We wanted to go someplace not too far from home for our 33rd wedding anniversary. Hillsboro is about an hour from home and is close to Rocky Fork State Park (we wanted to fish), so this seemed perfect.

Coyote Creek Farm did not disappoint us! This cabin is beautiful, well decorated and serene. Not only that - it was immaculately clean, something very important for me.

Alice, one of the owners, does an outstanding job, including amenities to be sure you have just about everything you need. There was a selection of bottled water/sodas in the refrigerator, snacks and coffee. She also made sure we had firewood, fire starters and matches to use in the fire pit and fireplace. Alice brought us breakfast every morning at 9 AM sharp, and the food was good. Everywhere I looked I found little touches that just endeared me to this place.

We really enjoyed fishing in one of the ponds. It is full of bass and we caught one just about every time we threw out our lines.

The atmosphere overall is just quiet and relaxing. Be aware that there is no TV, and you may not have cell service, but that was okay, after all we did go there to get away. You may notice a faint musty smell when first entering the cabin, but again, it is a cabin in the woods.

If you’re in the Hillsboro area I would highly recommend staying at Coyote Creek.

We very much enjoyed our recent stay at the Coyote Creek Farm cabin. We stayed only one night but wish we could've stayed the entire weekend. From the beautiful rustic decor to the delicious breakfast served to us the next morning. Every last detail of this cabin is promised to provide you with calmness and relaxation.

We were able to hook our ipod up the stero provided while we played board games and talked the whole evening. The cabin is also kind enough to provide you with firewood, soap, linens, and towels. There were also a couple of small bags of chips we used to snack on through the evening, as well as some cans of pop and two bottled waters in the fridge. I would definetely recommend this location to family & friends.

Enjoy your future stay!

I can't stop talking about how awesome this cabin is. It's like stepping back in time to a simpler lifestyle with peace and quiet. Our daughters loved sleeping in the loft and we loved our bedroom. It was nice that there was no tv. We hooked up our ipod to the stereo and listened to music and played yahtzee. It was so fun!
In the morning, I happened to look out the bedroom window to the beautiful creek that meanders alongside the cabin and saw a great blue heron walking through it. I was able to observe him for quite sometime without disturbing him. It was private and secluded. Alice prepared a delicious breakfast and delivered it to us in the morning. She suggested a visit to a nearby Mennonite general store and bakery. She also said we should try the pretzel bread sandwiches made at the bakery. Thanks Alice! We had the most delicious, wholesome sandwiches that we took along for the road.
We will be back without the kids and in the fall so we can take advantage of the beautiful stone fireplace.
