we found this restaurant through our motel. close to cedar point which was convenient for motel. nice atmosphere, friendly, if not slightly immature-acting, service. hostess and wait staff are young, probably college kids, and carrying on lots of personal conversations, texting between customers, etc. food was really good, nice portions, reasonable prices, but we had a new waiter (3 weeks) and i honestly don't think the management was following up on him. he really faltered. we sat and watched folks after us get served by a speedy waitress, and they had drinks, bread, and orders in before we even had our drink orders taken. i finally had to start going to hostess and other servers to check on him. i think there probably needs to be more oversight of new servers, because he just seemed kind of lost at times. by the end, he was hustling and super attentive. overall a fine place. we just had some bad luck.

This is an authentic Italian restaurant. It has a very large menu to choose from with Pizzas to deep dish pastas to wine and suds. Will definitely return when we travel back to Erie.

The food was good and plentiful. The value was ok. I was not overly impressed with the service but the food was good.

We have been eating at Martino's once every six months for the past five years. I suppose it could be a case of familiarity breeding contempt, but both my wife and I feel that the quality of the food is definitely on a downward trend. I would describe the food as average to good, but certainlly nothing to write home about. One example: during our last visit we ordered the brashetta, and it arrived with the bread burnt. It deserved to be sent back, but since we were involved in a business meeting, we didn't want to make a scene. But a first class restaurant - or a decent waiter - would never have allowed this food out of the kitchen. Also, while the outside of the establishment looks nice, the interior needs an update. Granted the parking lot is always full on the weekends, but I think this is more a testament to the lack of other decent restaurants in the area.

We went on a late Sunday afternoon, for the first time after we had a so-so meal and average at best service in the summer. We walked in the door, and a few tables were taken, but no one who worked there was to be found. One of the diners said they were having a meeting in the back. We stood at the door for about 5 minutes, and my husband decided to go for a walk to try to find someone, and went into bar area. No one there, either. More diners arrived through the door, still no one. We were just getting ready to leave when a woman finally appeared- no apologies, no smile, no hello, nothing- she just grabbed 2 menus and we had a wordless walk to a table. The waitress was nice but looked stressed, and quite honestly seemed like she couldn't remember anything. The decor looks old and it didn't look very clean; thre were some dead bugs on the dusty windowsill at our table.. We had a meal that was not memorable- well, I do remember picking out brown greens from my salad and commenting that the bread tasted stale. We were sad to see it had come to this- Marconi's used to be such a nice place to go, and we used to visit a few times a year when we felt like going for a drive. Had some friends who went with a group a few weeks after we were there, on a Saturday night with reservations, and they were not at all impressed with the service or the food.
