We were reprimanded by the staff for putting our brand new bikes in our room. If it was an issue I have no problem with them offering another solution but the older female employee and I quote said, "Oh my God if the boss was here he would have your a.." as she was walking past my family. I went directly to the front desk to complain and he was very apologetic but as he was explaining where we could store them she walked in. She did not apologize and appeared to have no customer service training. The cleaning girls do not speak English... I gave an overall rating of 3 because there is a playground across the street for children and the pool area is very nice.

Room Tip: The rooms on the north side of the complex have a nice view of the pool and the lake.

This was our first visit to Kelley Island and Venture Resort was a perfect place to stay. Our room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the pool but there were kids constantly in the hot tub. Maybe they should add a rule, "for children over 16" like most hotels. We cooked out on the grill over-looking the lake. There is a restaurant next door where which serves breakfast through dinner. We had a good breakfast there. Bikes are available at the resort but it was a short walk to town. Check in and out was fast. We definitely would return.

Let me begin by saying my family has been vacationing at KI for many many years and have stayed in houses, condos, and even camped multiple times. Luxory resort is a stretch but for a 1 night stay the accomadations are very nice. Well kept grounds and very clean pool area. Balconies and siding could use a power wash as sqiushed midges and mayflies are all over. This is very common for the islands so to me wasnt a huge deal but for some not familiar with the area may be a real turnoff. The view from room 220 was beautiful with panarama of the pool area and lake . Plastic chairs on the outside walkway BLAH but functional. Non smokers beware. it seems the smoke aroma travels down the walkway and can be a bit overwhelming. Lots of kids at the pool so be prepared for the sounds of children. The rooms were very nice and clean. Well stocked with towels for pool and showering. comfortable beds and nice pillows. Been to many places that this has been a problem so pleasantly suprised. Fride and micro functional, What more can you ask for. Had a very smooth check-in. only 1 of our 2 room keys worked but that was not an issue for us as we all stayed together anyways. Had No interaction with staff at quiet time. to much wine at the winery made bed time an ease. The air conditioner in the room could not keep a constant temp in the room. Since it was only in the low 70s again was not an issue. However if it had been warmer this could be a problem. Overall, pluses and minuses in the end it was a nice stay.

Room Tip: upstairs interior overlooking pool.

After a rainy season so far, we lucked out with a beautiful 2 night stay at Kelley's Island On June 13 & 14. We have stayed at the Kelley's Island Venture Resort in the past and have always had an excellent time every time. This time was no different. We used the pool in the afternoon, and brought food to cook out right by the lake. Our room was very clean, as always. We have stayed there every year for the past 5 years. Wish we could get a discount after being so loyal, as it is pricey. We will definitely stay there again. We took our cars over on the ferry, a bit more convenient as golf carts are not that close, but you could walk to town to rent them.

Room Tip: It's expensive, but clean and has a pool and hot tub. It's right on the lake, grounds are b...

If you think of this as a really nice motel, you'll be happy. I stayed in the Iroquois room, and it was really spacious - especially the loft. Bed was comfy. Fluffy pillows. Liked having the mini fridge and coffee. Nice location, nice pool.

We stayed 2 nights, and no one cleaned the room the first night. Clean towels were dropped off, but nothing was cleaned, beds were not changed or made. I mentioned this to front desk the next day. After I got home, I called and asked for some kind of credit for this lack of service on a room costing about $275/night with tax, and the woman said she'd call me back within a day. That was 5 days ago. So clearly customer service is lacking.

The rooms have 2 doors, front facing pool and backside. But your card key only works on the back door. Kind of odd, but not a big deal.

Overall it was a good visit, the island is adorable, and the weather was perfect, but a resolution on the issue would've been nice.

Family of 5 spent one night in a 3-queen loft, 1 bathroom. Beds quite comfy, space incredibly clean, plenty of towels. Wall unit upstairs and down were quiet during cycling (not always the case). It was great to have a small sitting room. 3 flat screen tvs, on the smallish side, but fine. Lost the satellite signal in the last 10 or 15 minutes of an HBO finale, but: it's an island, right? Hosts were friendly, helpful. Kids loved pool and hot tub (pool towels are in the room with the bath towels). There's a row of yellow cruiser bicycles for guests to use. Also, there's a guest notebook with information- short history of the island, local menus, rules (no racket after 11), and for now, a page on the current mayfly population. Nice toiletries for the bath. Coffeemaker, microwave, fridge; no breakfast. It's not plush-luxe, but still would stay there again in a minute.
