We were extremely fortunate to stay in "A Water's Edge Retreat" by virtue of a last minute cancellation from another guest. Elisabeth was so friendly taking our reservation by phone and Tim was a wonderful host upon arrival. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and enjoyed the afternoon sangria and cheese, as well as an absolutely AMAZING breakfast, while sitting on their private chairs located directly on the lake front. The house is conveniently located to all attractions and we used the free bicycles to ride more than half of the island on a gorgeous sunny day. We have zero complaints and wish Tim and Beth the best of success. Thank you !!!

Our weekend with friends at the Water's Edge was a wonderful experience in every way. The Inn itself is a classic beautiful Victorian home, beautifully decorated and our room was so comfortable and cozy--overlooking Lake Erie. Beth and Tim our hosts were so gracious and the Sangria and appetizers sitting on the porch overlooking Lake Erie in the late afternoon taking in the view of sailboats drifting along in the wind was fabulous--best Sangria, but Tim won't divulge his secret recipe. Breakfast was the best we have ever had in any place we have stayed--both mornings so many wonderful dishes--English Trifle and strawberry crepes and heuvos rancheros and eggs benedict, fresh fruit and.......After dinner at one of the places in town--we would come home to find chocolate dessert treats waiting for us when we walked in the door. We highly recommend A Water's Edge and hope to return next summer.

A spontaneous decision on Friday morning to spend an anniversary/birthday weekend celebration on Kelley's Island led us to Tripadvisor and a great reco for A Waters Edge. A fortunate cancellation from another bagged us the awesome Paul Francis room on the top floor of the Victorian house, with an amazing three direction view of the lake. A great sighting of Cedar Point five miles away, with the sound of the surf at night with the windows open. Ahhhh!

Beth and Tim are wonderful hosts. Breakfasts to die for, Home made sangria late afternoon, and wonderful sweets in the evening. The house was build twenty years ago by the hosts, and it is comfort-by-the-lake. Far enough from the docks and downtown to be totally peaceful, yet close enough to get to the restaurants and other island sights, this is the place to stay at Kelley's Island.

Room Tip: We loved the top floor. What a view!

Surprised the wife with a long weekend get-away on Kelley's island. FIrst time at a Bed-Breakfast and we picked the right one. Mid August on Kelley's Island is the perfect time for a long weekend get away. Tim and Beth were perfect hosts. Outstanding breakfast. Rooms were perfect. Location was perfect. We enjoyed the island on bike for two days. Great restaurants for lunch and dinner. Thank you so much Tim and Beth. We will be back again.

When reading the reviews, we were very excited and had high expectations for our stay. We were underwhelmed. It was not a very good value for the money we paid. Pros-The breakfast was really fabulous, a wide assortment of items that were ALL yummy. The location is great for those looking for a peaceful, out of the way location. The view of the lake is serene and picturesque. We were glad to have free access to bikes (though they werent in great repair).
CONS- Our room was very small (Theresa Regina), the innkeepers only seemed to be there for breakfast otherwise they were absentee the rest of the time. Would have liked to talk with them about the island and get suggestions of things to do-but we were on our own. We not get served the evening sweet treats we heard about either-only something 1 out of 3 nights :-(

We certainly apologize if we did not meet your expectations.
Sometimes plans go awry. We had an extremely ill granddaughter that was taken by ambulance to the hospital. This kept our normally very active presence to less than ever.
Both Ceyda and Kelly put out our fancy chocolates at around 8 Pm. Each evening. I am sorry that you may have turned in early or missed them in the Foyer. We would love to have you back to show you what our normal day is like at our award-winning bed-and-breakfast.

Kind regards,
Elizabeth and Tim

My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with a trip to Kellys Island including 3 nights at the Water' s Edge. Tim and Beth are outstanding hosts who treat you like you are part of their family. They should write a book on how to delight customers at a bed and breakfast! Yes, the breakfasts are as advertised and the Sangria in the afternoon and late night treats are a nice touch. Well-maintained bikes and golf carts are available to get around the island. We had a nice room with a jacuzzi tub and a small refrigerator. The front porch that wraps around the house is a great place to read, chill out and look out across the lake, or enjoy breakfast or your favorite beverage. A really great place to get away for a few days and relax however you prefer (reading, walking, checking out the sites on the island such as the glacial grooves, dining options including bars, a winery and brewery, pizza places and fancier fare, swimming at the State park, daytrip to other islands). Don't forget to try the Brandy Alexander at the Village Pump. I know it is a throw-back to "old school" but this adult milkshake is the ticket for soothing parched spirits on a hot summer day. Hope to return soon!

We just spend a glorious 2 nights at the Water Edge, the facility was as described, David Hermes made us feel so at home, he was so helpful in opening the island to us for exploration. The Breakfasts were so tasty, we had so much fun riding the bicycles. We met new friends on the Veranda, found peace sitting on the dock reading. The only way I could best describe the visit was heaven on earth, and I look forward to visiting again. I strongly recommend this place.
