Most of the stay was fine, but we had to wait for over an hour to get into our room because our room was being used for some sort of meeting. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm and we arrived around 4pm and had to wait in the lobby until 5:30pm! When we arrived we were told it would only be 5 minutes. 40 minutes later we were told they were putting the bed into the room!! It was poorly handled.

The Hampton Inn Lancaster was clean and modern. The location was convenient to many attractions. We visited the museums in downtown Lancaster and spent the day hiking in Hocking Hills State Park. We enjoyed relaxing in the whirlpool and pool. There were nice dining choices within walking distance.

Spent 2 nights here recently to attend a wedding. Rooms were nice & clean. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom with large mirror and plenty of vanity space. Best part of the stay was the complimentary breakfast. A lot of choices in addition to the usual waffles & cereal. Hot oatmeal with toppings and fresh fruit mixture that you seldom find on the road. Hot eggs, sausage, & home fries. Coffee was delicious, too. Very roomy breakfast area with lots of tables and even a bar to sit at. Nice big flat screen TV there, as well. Located near plenty of dining and shopping. Would definitely stay here again.

We checked in here on a Saturday afternoon because we were attending a wedding nearby. I asked the desk clerk for a room on side of the hotel away from the main highway and we were given a room on the first floor. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated. The first thing I noticed however was the footsteps overhead. This is fairly common in a lot of hotels though so I did not give that much concern. Later in the evening when we came back from the wedding though and were settling down to sleep, we noticed we could hear TVs in other rooms, people shutting doors, lots of noise in the hallways, people outside talking. The hotel has very thin walls. You could even hear showers and faucets from other rooms being turned on and off. This is really a problem for me as I am a light sleeper to begin with. I finally fell asleep after midnight. In the morning same problem. After 7 a.m. or so lots of noise and activity. The breakfast was excellent - lots of variety. However, for me a quiet hotel goes a long way and this one was definitely not that. It also could be that there was a wedding going on and it was a Saturday evening. Or maybe that we are used to b&bs. But I have stayed at other Hamptons that were much more insulated and quieter.
