“Thanksgiving Get-A-Way”

The Bellwoode Cabin was wonderful. It was a great value and very clean. View from deck was beautiful with snow in trees. The setting was quiet and peaceful., no clouds one night and the stars were amazing through the tree branches. The cabin contents were sufficient for the moderate cooking we did over 4 days and there was always hot water. The couch and love seat provided plenty of space for my daughter and I to relax. The two rocking chairs at fireplace an extra bonus. This was my second trip to Nature's Pointe and plan to return in the future.

Thank you for submitting a review, Jacquelin. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed Bellwoode Cabin. I'm glad you noticed how amazing the night sky can be. Our secluded main property is miles from city lights, so on moonless, cloudless nights, especially in winter, the stars are simply spectacular. If you stay out long enough to let your eyes adjust to the darkness. The stars alone will provide enough light to cast shadows.

Laurel Ridge was spacious, comfortable and very nice. We were always watching out the windows for wildlife. There was a baby deer in back when we arrived and every morning around 7 am a bird would talk on the deck "pretty, pretty, pretty". Everyone had there own sleeping space, there was enough seating in the living area, a pool table and hot tub. There was also a dishwasher and a nice deck area. I would like to go back again some day. I'm sure the other Natures Pointe Cabins are very nice but Laurel Ridge is our pick. Due to the snow we did not utilize the trails but in reading others experiences the trails are great as well as the sites along the way. Through those readings it appears that everyone has enjoyed their stay. Thank you for sharing with so many families.

Thank you for reviewing your stay at the Laurel Ridge Cabin, Tammy. The wildlife and birds certainly at a touch of nature to your stay at this cabin, and all of our cabins for that matter. Hopefully, you'll make it back and can walk the trails on the property. It's really beautiful.

We had an excellant time at the Ridgeview Cabin this past weekend. The accommodations were fabulous! Clean, cozy and friendly. Can't wait to book our next years getaway at Natures Pointe. We have been to Hocking Hills many times and have used various cabins. This by far was our most favorite stay.

Thank you for your review, Peg. We know there are a lot of cabin choices in the Hocking Hills. That's why we try to stand out from the rest by keeping our cabins well maintained and clean. Thank you for noticing our efforts. We hope to see you next year.

Stayed in the Rocky Ridge cabin thru Nature's Point Cabins during the first weekend of November with another couple. We were very pleased. The cabin was beautiful and cozy. The downstairs had a pool table that was not shown in the online pictures so we were pleasantly surprised. There was a large fire pit outside, an oversized hot tub, and an awesome wrap around deck. The owners supplied several basic supplies that came in handy several times during our trip. There are cliffs on the property that you can walk to/ climb. The cabin was clean, the beds were comfy, and the cabin itself was very well decorated. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

We liked the layout of this cabin and when we went to re-book it, we were told we were banned from coming back! We were completely surprised to hear that we were "very messy" and "untidy"! The cabin was clean when we left other than scrubbing the counters and vacuuming the floor. I don't know what they expect! They expect you to do all the cleaning....and I mean everything. I couldn't believe that we were declined to return! This was completely uncalled for treatment to a guest. If you plan on staying here, make sure you pack your cleaning supplies and book an extra day for cleaning. You probably shouldn't hike either, you may track too much dust into the cabin. Don't even consider having anyone sleep on the pull out sofa. It's just dangerous and not even acceptable.

This is an unfair review of the cabin and baseless. These guests enjoyed their stay and loved the cabin, so much so that two days later they wanted to reserve the cabin for next year. The problems: they checked out nearly 30 minutes late. When we entered the cabin to clean, we found conditions in the kitchen, dining and living area unacceptable--very messy; below what we consider baseline conditions after 9 years in this business. Because of these issues, we decided to decline their reservation for next year. We did so in a professional manner but these guests took great offense to that and have called us unfair and unprofessional in multiple lengthy follow-up emails. The whole issue of cleanliness is an opinion on both sides. Their reaction, quite frankly, has been a little startling.

We do ask all guests to tidy up before leaving at the end of their stay. Scrub? Sweep? Of course not. 99.9% of our guests have no issue with being responsible for themselves and any messes they make. They do so in part because they see what great pride we take in providing very clean and well maintained lodging and simply wish to reciprocate that.

As for the sleeper sofa comment. First time they've brought this up. Why are they using it in the first place? One couple with an infant child in a 3 bedroom cabin. It doesn't add up, unless more guests were in cabin than we were told.

We just got home from another wonderful stay at Natures Pointe Cabins..This was our 4th stay, and we have stayed in the Bellewood every time except once when we stayed in The Wildwood. We are hooked on the Bellewood, altho it's more of a challenge than the others, since it's down in the valley, it is well worth it, beautiful, spotless, serene and very private.
I have looked around at the many other places available to stay, but in my opinion none can compare to the privacy and cleanliness of Natures Pointe..We will be back for our yearly treat in 2014, can hardly wait!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review, Rebecca. We sincerely appreciate you returning year after year. FYI - We most likely will be changing the name of the Bellwoode Cabin next year to a name more reflective of its natural setting, so don't be alarmed when can't find Bellwoode on our web site--it will be there under a new name. See you in 2014!

My husband, 22-month old son and I just returned from spending two nights in the Settler's Hollow cabin. It was clean, spacious, and everything worked. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. The hot tub was enjoyable. Neither of us took any offense to the helpful signs here and there or the policies in the binder.
My husband is a 3rd shift worker and I am a light sleeper. This makes sleeping together very difficult-well, impossible. The first night, he started out on the pull-out sofa but tossed and turned so much that I told him to come up to the bed. His tossing and turning on the pull-out bed was making quite a racket. I've never found a pull-out bed to be very comfortable, and this one was no exception. I don't mean any ill will by including this in my review, I just think it needs to be said so that an average adult doesn't plan on getting good rest on it. I think kids would do just fine.
It appears that a guest prior to us cooked something in the tea kettle. When my husband went to fill it with water, he found it caked with a white substance. He chose to boil water in the microwave instead.

Thank you for your overall positive review, jtaylor71. We only have two cabins with sleeper sofas. Yes, they are notoriously uncomfortable, and they don't hold up, that's why we don't allow 4 adults in our cabins with one bedroom and a sleeper in the living room. We don't intend for adults to sleep on them. Sorry your husband found out the hard way. We plan on replacing the two sleeper sofas we have with couches next year. Regarding the white matter in the tea kettle. It is nothing more than mineral build-up on the inside bottom of the kettle from hard water. Sometimes pieces break loose even though we try to minimize the problem. Please consider staying with us again next time you visit the Hocking Hills.
