SO MUCH HAS IMPROVED!!!!! They've added heaters to their cars, solved the weather problems. It's just so wonderful. This is our family Christmas tradition to go every year. I was a little sad to see the stop go away, but it solved a lot of problems like waiting in the cold to see Santa. Now I don't even need to leave my seat. When you receive your tickets you get a free hot chocolate (not scalding hot), and your choice of a cookie or different treat. The cookies aren't the best but they're gluten, nut, egg, and dairy free. They also offer three types of ridding choices. We rode in the Cocoa Class and We got free Cocoa Refills, they even had a toppings bar. Their staff is friendly as always!!!! I can't wait to come back there this year!

We took our granddaughters on a Train Ride with Daniel Tiger today on the LM&M Railroad. It was a very hot day (over 90 degrees), and we were SO happy that we paid the extra $5 per person to get the "deluxe seating" in an air-conditioned rail car. The cars for coach seating only get conditioned by the wind through the windows.

We thought that they could have done a little more with Daniel Tiger for the children. Basically, they had a person in a Daniel Tiger costume walk through each car and let people take photos of their children with Daniel - nothing more. A nice addition would be to play a one or two-minute segment of a Daniel Tiger episode in each car and have the costumed character play the part as if he were in it.

The one hour and fifteen minute train ride itself wasn't terribly exciting as there really isn't much to see along the way. Nevertheless, it was something different to do, and our granddaughters got to ride on a train for the first time in their lives.

Don't forget! Pay the extra $5 for deluxe seating!!!!

We took an all day trip with the Ohio Rail Experience out of Washington Court House to Urbana. The trip was a total of 10 hours including a Two hour layover in Urbana. The cars were really nice and the “concession car” was open to allow for some unobstructed views of the countryside. If you go spend the extra money for the streamlined coaches. Oh, and make sure you take your camera, you’ll be glad you did.

The Turtle Creek Valley Flyer ride lasted about an hour and 15 minutes. The conductors were friendly and a snack bar was available on the train. The description mentioned conductors describing railroad history and operations. We did not hear any commentary on our tour - I’m not sure if something wasn’t working or if there wasn’t narration on our ride. Seemed like it would be great for kids!

My wife, I and some friends took the train ride from Washington Courthouse Ohio to Urbana Ohio. This was their second run on the route and was a lot of fun. The train consists of cars from various old venues, a couple of old engines, with one being the oldest still in service, a couple air conditioned cars and a few with just windows. Don't expect a lot of history on this ride as it is just a train ride on an old time train. They have a snack car which is well stocked and reasonable a couple of bathrooms and cars that you can stand by the opening and take pictures of whatever you can see. You get to Urbana and have about 2 hours to eat and shop before returning to Washington Courthouse. If you cannot do stairs, then it will be hard to board the train. The people who volunteer and work this attraction are very nice and accommodating to all who participate. Nice lazy day. Leaves at 9am and returned at about 6:30PM Nice for kids and old people alike who want to experience a train ride as it was in the 30's and 40's
