On a recent outing in Dec. 2004 we decided to stop and dine at the
Skyline Chili Restaurant in Lebanon,Ohio. The Skyline chain is
noted for family dining and serving "famous" Cincinnati chili.
As we as a family enjoy this it was not unusual to stop for this
meal. The restaurant served us chili "5ways" and "cheese coneys"
etc. All generally seemed ok but tasted a bit strange..
After leaving the restaurant within two hours our entire family
was sick- vomitting and indigestion.
Being interested in good health and healthy eating establishments, I immediately telephoned in and reported this to the restaurant.
A few days later the manager called and told me that I COULDN'T
have gotten sick on THEIR food and virtually told me that I was
a liar etc. due to the fact that no one else had called in having been
sick on their food that day !
Having dealt with sick people for about two days-
I heartily told him that I suspected some type of food poisoning.
Complete denial and an and "I'm sorry your family was sick-
but it wasn't OUR fault." No refund offered- although the meal was
only around $25.00 etc. Certainly the customer service is poor at this
restaurant and no doubt some of the food prep areas need some
attention. There is also a Gold Star Chili in Lebanon so my
thought is if you want Cincinnati Chili you might try there.
I know personally after dealing with a sick family AND an insulting
restaurant manager - I won't be back eat at Skyline Chili in Lebanon,
