My future husband and I just booked our 3rd trip to Hickory Ridge and we couldn't be more excited to return. All cabins are on a secluded drive that gets very little traffic if any. Our first visit was in August 2013 and we stayed in the Homestead. Perfect cabin for a small family or a couple. Amazing hot tub that is covered so you can use it no matter what the weather! April 2014 we stayed in the Woods. Perfect cabin for a romantic get away. Screened in porch, bench swing by the fire pit, and completely secluded by the Woods. Only con is that the hot tub is not covered. Both cabins are clean, comfortable, well maintained, and come with every amenity you would have at home! Fully functional kitchen, gas grill, indoor/outdoor dining area, hot tub, gas fire place, towels, robes, marshmallow roasting sticks, and even fun books to look at while relaxing. We absolutely love Hickory Ridge and look forward to our next getaway!

This place was beautiful. What they say on their website is so true and even more! They treated us with royalty - music, flowers, candy and candles lit. You are definitely in the woods and no one is near you, very secluded. This cabin was better than advertised on the website. Seeing is believing!!

My friend and I were looking for a place to go to be off the grid for a few days, and hang out and be lazy without our respective partners getting on us to do stuff, and without the cell phone dinging, and without the email coming in all day and night (we are both teachers, so this is a problem sometimes). We booked the Homestead Cabin and right away we had a great experience. The owners responded to our online reservation request within a couple hours, with all the information we needed, including directions and the number to call with any additional requests. They also requested that we call with our estimated time of arrival or when we were en route, which we did, even though we didn't quite know why.

Turns out they want you to call so they can arrange a proper welcome! They really went above and beyond the kind of atmosphere I've ever seen in cabins like this. Music was playing when we got there, and a personalized message was on the chalkboard outside the front door. The air had already been adjusted so we weren't roasting, and little homey touches like a bowl of chocolate and maple-scented candles burning made the arrival really great.

The cabin itself is clean, well appointed, and has all the amenities you would want in a cabin in the woods. They will even stock the fire ring with wood for you if you ask (we brought our own to save some $$; the firewood is an extra fee if they stock it). It is very quiet on the lane, and we only saw one car going up the drive to where we assumed the other cabin was the whole time we were there. Other than that, we felt like we had the world to ourselves. There is actually NO CELL SERVICE once you leave the main road, so be prepared to be cut off from the outside world except for a landline in the cabin that makes local calls. Since this is exactly what we were looking for, we were delighted that no calls, texts, or emails would reach us. We literally spent three days reading books, crafting, and watching movies in the cozy living room and out on the deck. We brought our own food to cook on the gas grill, and the dishwasher was a very nice thing to have after dinner, let me tell you. Neither of us wanted to come back to the real world after the week was over.

The only cautions I will give:
The woods around the cabin are fraught with poison ivy, so be very careful. We ended up taking our walk on the road to avoid the itchies.
The raccoons are very determined. We took out the trash halfway through our stay and put it in the locking can outside. The raccoons got into it and we ended up having to clean it all up again.
Bring lots of bug spray. Many mosquitoes. (But hey, it's the woods right... that's kinda part of the deal)

Best bachelorette weekend ever! We stayed in the Eagles Lodge (last weekend of May 2014) and we were so impressed with how beautiful it is. And we lucked out with the best weather. It is very secluded but they gave excellent directions. The outside is awesome and the inside even better. When we first got there, Ginny came to say hello and just give tips on a variety of things with the cabin. Inside it was so clean and neat, music was playing and even Scentsy's were on so it smelled wonderful. The first floor is a living room, dining area, kitchen, 2 bedrooms & a bathroom as well as access to the wrap around porch with plenty of seating and grill. The upstairs is a loft with a queen size bed & bathroom. The downstairs has a mini kitchen, pool table, 1 bedroom and bathroom with a futon and couch & chairs and 2 extra pull out beds & air mattress in the closet (also plenty of blankets & pillows) as well as the sliding glass doors that lead to the hot tub and up the little hill the stocked and ready fire pit with some chairs. Truly beyond expectations. We had everything we needed. Little homemade soaps in the bathrooms, even hand lotions at the sinks. Nearby there are plenty of things to do, our group did horseback riding and ziplining. There's enough hiking to do around the cabin but hiking trails of Hocking Hills are not far. There is also a Save-a-Lot 5-10 minutes away. This is a great choice for a weekend getaway!

My teenage daughter and two of her friends spent a night at Eagle's Nest Lodge. We were all so thrilled with the stay. The setting was secluded and so peaceful. We enjoyed the massive deck for grilling and outdoor eating. The hut tub was a huge hit with the girls and they loved the fire pit. The pictures online do not do the place justice. The great room is so large and comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked. Everything so clean and fresh. From the second we walked in the girls were plotting for a return visit with more friends. Highly recommend!

Cabins at Hickory Ridge is top notch in the area. Usually cabin rentals are all clustered together so they can get the most out of the property, but here you are truly secluded and on your own. We stayed in the Woods Cabin which is at the back of the property and aside from the driveway you would think you are 100 miles from the next house.

The Woods cabin was the perfect size and included everything that you might need. It was clean and they had prepared it nicely for us before we arrived. Just reading through the guest book you will see dozens more positive experiences with this cabin.

You are about a 35-40 minute drive from the state park but it is an easy drive. And to be honest you won't find a cabin of this quality for the price that you pay in the park, so it is an easy trade off.

There is a rather steep hill getting to the cabin which I assume you can still get up in a 2wd, I was in an AWD car and had no issues, but in the winter time with snow and ice you might need 4WD.

We will definitely be returning in the future.
