Owner description: The Little Buckeye Children's Museum is a hands-on children's museum located in downtown Mansfield. With many different exhibits, the Little Buckeye is an ideal location for group and family visits by children ages 2-12 years. We understand that exploration and play are critical to child development, imagination, and creativity. We know that play benefits children socially, emotionally, and intellectually! At Little Buckeye, we know that not every child gets the opportunity to play in a safe and creative environment. Little Buckeye Children's Museum provides that opportunity. Our museum features exhibits in the arts, sciences, transportation, and imagination play. You can: shop for groceries in the Little Market, learn in the science lab, perform on stage, have fun in the bank, discover in the tree house, get wet in our Water Table, play auto mechanic at Little Buckeye Auto Repair and much more

“Great fun and educational”
Reviewed 13 July 2013

This museum is much larger inside than it appears on the outside. It is very clean, has great and friendly staff. It would appeal to children from about 14 months (walking age) through about age 6 or so. It is laid out as a collection of small areas for children to explore on their own. There is a dentist area with a chair and tools for them to play with, some mini-sized tractors for driving, a grocery store with small shelves and items for them to pretend purchase, a very cool water area to play in - complete with water bibs so they don't get too wet. Over all this is a really nice place for children and will entertain and educate them for about 2 hours.

“Great place for little ones to explore the big people's world.”
Reviewed 4 April 2013 via mobile

Great place for little ones to explore the big people's world. There is something for every child here. Whether they desire to be a chef or doctor or mechanic or engineer, children can find something to engage their minds and bodies at this hands-on museum.
My son loved the huge water table. He also enjoyed filling a basket with apples from the tree. His favorite activity was flipping every switch and pushing every button in a real car! Allow at least 2 hours or pack a lunch and stay a little longer.

“An ideal place for kids to play and use their imaginations.”
Reviewed 14 March 2013 via mobile

If there are young children in your family this is an amazing place to spend some time with them. Exhibits are all hands on to encourage imaginative play and discoveriy. Some of my grandchildrens favorite areas are the water table, the three little bears house, the chemistry lab, the free house, and the grocery store. Most of the exhibits are designed to appeal to preschool and primary aged children but more exhibits are being added for older kids and include an area to disassemble donated items such as small electrical appliances and a model train layout will be open soon. There is even a special play area for infants and toddlers. We often include a visit to the Richland Carrousel whichis llocated a block away.
