“Beautiful but pricey”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

We stayed here one night and wish we could have afforded to stay longer. The room was perfect - it included a king bed and whirlpool tub. Be careful because the water can be very hot! The room was very dark, very quiet after 11 pm, and we loved the pools. We spent time inside and outside swimming and relaxing by the water. The breakfast was excellent but again it was expensive. We don't have small children, but we could see why a family would love to spend time there with all the things to do for kids. It was a good experience but very expensive.

New & clean, should have stayed an extra night. The kids LOVED it. We had a great room, with bunk beds for the kids, roomy and clean. We live close, so we did not need kitchen, washing facitilies. Waterpark was awesome! Very spacious, clean, not only your everyday waterpark slides. Never felt it was too crowded. Kids ages 12, 10, 8 & 7 all enjoyed themselves. All swimming levels felt comfortable and had plenty to do. The food was good, not too pricey and different types were available as well as room service. There are also some fast food restaurants and others up the street minutes away, Outback, Chiplotle, Ruby Tuesdays, and local Cincinnati stuff...skyline and Frisches. yum. Staff was eager to please us. Great experience, and we will return! Also, right next to it is Kings Island amusement park, The Beach waterpark. Outlet mall (Tanger in Jeffersonville) 45 min north of waterpark on 71 and another new one (Cincinnati Premium) about 20 min west. Great mall (Kenwood) about 20 min south on 71. Lots to do close, Red's game, Museums, etc.

Room Tip: Ask to see them or view pics on line...they give an accurate description.

A nice indoor water park. Not as big as the one in Texas (but that's par for the course). We enjoyed our stay at the resort. The kids cabins rooms are great for families of 5. The watermark uses salt water so it does not hurt the eyes.

My husband and I and our 3 kids (ages 18, 9, and 6) stayed for 3 nights. We all had so much fun and were completely exhausted when we left. The entire place is very clean. The food at the Lodge was fabulous! The lifeguards were young but very attentive and you could tell they took their job serious - they didn't clown around, they worked and watched everything going on. We really enjoyed our stay!

I thought that this resort lived up to what they advertise. A great place for kids. My 2 kids had a blast and cried when it was time to leave. That being said I think that it could use some enhancement for adults. I think that the food is reasonable priced, and I found it to be clean. The staff was very very friendly and went out of there way to help us. I think that they could use more than 2 elevators, as they tended to be very slow during peak times, also the pillows are about like sleeping on a sidewalk. I would recommend taking your own. Overall I would definitely stay there again and will make a return trip, as my kids loved it.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 3rd floor and found it to be quiet, also ask for a even number room and you will mo...

We stayed two nights in June 2014. We had a loft room on the fourth floor. 3 beds - two queens, one full upstairs and a pull out sofa that sleeps two. Balcony overlooked the pool and you could view Kings Island's fireworks (also good viewing from far parking lot). Room had one full bath and a half bath (toilet and sink) upstairs. Room was clean, bathroom was okay, 4th floor is the quietest area / there is a magic game that uses wands and kids run around solving it. Personally I would save the money and have kids double up (share a wand) since we played for an hour or two but wands kept breaking. A bit frustrating. Best part of the stay was the water park - large, clean, life guards everywhere. We loved the wave pool and family raft ride. Arcade isn't bad - smaller sized bowling bowls for adults and little kids - very fun. It can be loud with lots of lights and buzzers going off. I would stick to the bowling and air hockey for your money. Pros - fun, great water park, nice room. Cons - loud at night, can be expensive (food and room), magic wands kept breaking. Look on groupon and online for discounts. Overall we had a great stay and would return.

Lots of frustrations during our visit - too many to recap but here are a few. Front desk staff unfamiliar with how to add money to wristbands that can be used around the resort and even when they finally figured it out it didn't matter because none of the scanners worked and we had to carry cash/credit card with us anyway. Food and beverage manager, Aaron, was extremely rude to my party and another party waiting for service at the bar (which was closed but no sign posted stating it was closed. Aaron informed us we should've assumed it was closed since the tv was off. Um, ok). We loaded $50 onto 2 arm bands ($100 total) and couldn't use them (as mentioned above) but when I went for a refund they told me they only owed me $50. They said we had redeemed $50 "somewhere." When I asked where they stated it must have been an error and finally refunded the full $100. Water slides had one lifeguard per set of slides (4 slides, one guard) which made it a very slow process and led to long lines. Not to mention the lifeguards were extremely unmotivated and in no hurry to load guests into the slides. Water park had strong chlorine fumes which lead to everyone in our party needing eye drops before bed. Guest service manager Rob did do his best to salvage our stay and we truly appreciated his kindness. However, having to deal with these frustrations in the first place leaves us with little desire to return.

Thank you for sharing the feedback from your recent stay at Great Wolf Lodge – Mason! I sincerely apologize for the difficulties you had while utilizing our cashless system and for the service you received from a member of our Food & Beverage team. I have shared your comments with our Management team to review and follow-up on.

When lifeguards are loading guests in at the top of the slide, they have to wait for the lifeguard at the exit of the slide to signal that it is safe and clear to send the next guests down the slide. Some guests can have difficulty exiting a slide, which can lead to delays in getting the next riders sent. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

I can understand your concerns about the chlorine levels in the waterpark and I can assure you that they are constantly being monitored by our Aquatics and Maintenance teams to ensure safe levels for our guests. If adjustments need to be made, they are done in real-time to make sure we are maintaining the safest possible environment for our guests. We also are aware some guests are more sensitive than others and our veteran guests recommend taking periodic breaks so you will be able to have more fun in the long run.

I hope your family will choose to stay with us again soon!
