My lovely bride, Karen, called me at our home after checking in. She sounded tired and sad, so after we spoke, I called the front desk and chatted with "Maya." What an incredible employee she is ! Maya wanted to help brighten Karen's day and asked me how my wife likes her coffee. She then prepared a fresh cup of decaf coffee with extra cream and personally delivered it to Karen's room as a surprise pick-me-up ! Wow !
As a career business-to-business sales manager and trainer, I have said a gazillion times, "There is no secret to sales...people buy from people they like !" I believe that an organization cannot train personnel to be customer-focused. One must hire an individual who is customer-focused, then teach that individual their business. Kudos to the Marriott Corporation for employing staff members like Maya...and THANK YOU to Maya for being such a wonderfully kind and thoughtful human being...one who is totally likeable !More
