Had an amazing experience at Common Ground Canopy Tours. Had zipped in Belize once before and was a bit nervous about this tour (7 zip lines!!). Had to complete Ground School, which was a great introduction and safety course, before starting the tour. Mike and Ethan were awesome guides!! The property is beautiful and our guides pointed out many features (coyote den was cool!). Cannot wait to return and experience the different seasons while zipping at Common Ground. #izipped

At last we have a zip line close to home! Common Ground Canopy Tours in Oberlin, OH has only been open for ten days, but you would never know it from the organized and professional manner in which our "tour" was run. Katie and Matt expertly showed our group of eight the ropes (tee hee) and made us all feel at ease mega feet above the ground. The tour consisted of seven zip lines, three hanging bridges, the only floating staircase in North America and the pièce de résistance...a chance to rappel down from the last platform. It took approximately three hours. You can sign up for the picture package in advance for $7/person in your reservation, or $10/person after you are done. The pictures are emailed to you instantly. This is my only complaint about the day. I think $7 or $10 per reservation would have been plenty...per person is a bit exorbitant, especially since they only emailed it to one of us! You can easily take your camera with you in a closed pocket and take your own pix. Be sure and wear closed toe and heel shoes...that is their rule, though I don't really know why. Afterward, we went for a lovely lunch in Oberlin. what a great way to spend our anniversary! Best of luck for great success to Common Ground Canooy Tours!

On this cloudy Monday we visited this new business which is a part of a leadership training center. Following a practice line with more thorough training than most zip adventures, we climbed the 61 steps of the tower to the first zip. There were 7 zips up in the trees, over areas of the Vermilion River. Also were 2 spiral stair climbs (about 30 steps each), a floating stair climb (reportedly the only one in the country), 2 swinging bridges and a rapel. The platforms were different than those previously experienced -- no safety rails around the perimeter. We were double clipped on cables at each platform. Different doesn't necessarily mean bad...just different. The 8 person tour was expected to take 2 1/2 - 3 hours; we were more like 3 3/4 -4 hours...but the guides were very patient to answer questions before we ever started, practice was gone over step-by-step with each individual. One person opted to drop out. She was thanked for being honest about her previously unknown limitations and not putting herself (or anyone else) in jeopardy. The remainder of the group (4 adults, 3 middle school students) had a marvelous time. Cheering one another on we all challenged ourselves. Some zips were fast! The guides cued us when to hand brake. It was a great time. I think with more repetition as the season progresses the guides will move the groups along quicker without anyone feeling rushed. For today, we were all glad for their professional, cautions processes.
