This was the perfect place for a birthday trip with my sisters. When we arrived John showed us to the garden room, a lovely place to sit and enjoy a glass of complimentary wine. Each room is beautifully decorated with comfy beds and views of the serene 5 acre setting. John and Linda are very congenial people who gave us a warm welcome and delicious breakfast. We definitely plan to return!

I am selfishly hesitant to share this special place, but I know it is the right thing to do.

Our son is attending Miami University and we were searching for a place to stay when we visit. This is the place, so wonderful that I will plan my stay around their room availability. The innkeepers are warm and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and lovely, every one of them! The breakfast is fabulous and served family style. It is clear that this inn was planned with guest comfort in mind, from the spacious guest rooms to the wonderful, comfortable common areas. It has the charm of an older home with the convenience of a newer, modern home. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of with beautiful flowers and gardens.

We loved it and hope to not have to stay anywhere else! Thank you very much innkeepers Linda and John, we lived it!

Room Tip: Any room is charming, they are all different, and wonderful!

It was my husband's and my first stay at a Bed & Breakfast. We splurged on the Queen Anne suite and had really high hopes about our stay. We ran into a lot of problems when we got there, however-- the toilet leaked when we first flushed it (which was easily fixed right away), the gas fireplace wouldn't light, the wifi internet didn't work, and while the bathtub/shower was GORGEOUS, the overhead showerhead and bath water spout wouldn't work... only the small handheld showerhead did while leaking water out the hose in the process... making for a clumsy time getting cleaned up in the morning!
The B&B and room themselves were so nice. I hope the owners can get these problems fixed before the next guests. If we go back, we probably won't splurge on the room with all the non-functioning amenities though.

We stayed at the White Garden Inn while visiting our child at Miami University and we hope to stay there again soon.

Owners John and Linda are warm, engaging, professionals who built this B & B from the ground up. They planned each common space very deliberately, thinking about how guests would enjoy spending their time. There are many places (both indoors and outside) for reading, playing cards, enjoying a cup of coffee, glass of beer/wine, or just talking – all perfectly well-suited for small groups of 3 or 4 as well as larger groups of people enjoying being together. The guest breakfast room works well for those who wish to eat a quick breakfast and be on their way as well as those who prefer to linger over a 2nd and 3rd cup of coffee while getting to know others staying at the Inn. The owner’s extended their hospitality to our daughter and suggested that she join us for Sunday breakfast, even though her meal plan at the dorm includes breakfast.

Since we arrived at night, we had no idea about the lovely rear yard with its stone patio, fire-pit, and seating area. I found this outside area when I headed into the sunroom early in the morning to read and wait for the others in my family to wake up.

The guest rooms are large, and very, very clean and the beds and bedding are comfortable. Guests are offered a basket (in the common area on the 2nd floor) of soaps, shampoo, hair dryers, and other items that one may need. The sun room (mentioned earlier) has a mini-fridge that is well stocked with beer, wine, and soft drinks – all complimentary.

White Garden Inn is just 2 miles from Miami University – close enough to be very convenient yet a “world away” in that guests are treated to an authentic country inn experience. There are only 5 guest rooms - so book early!

My wife and I decided at the last moment to drive our son back to Oxford following Christmas break. I called and was greeted on the phone by John who graciously took my reservation. This place is great: large, spacious, clean rooms and wonderful public areas. It's just minutes from downtown Oxford... The owners, John and Linda are amazing. We were greated with a delicious full breakfast and had a wonderful conversation with them. We can't wait to return when Linda's beautiful garden is in full bloom.

I've stayed at the White Garden Inn five times now in connection with visits to Miami University of Ohio. The Inn looks old at first but it's actually quite new, designed as a B&B by the owners. Most of this very large house is the inn side (the owners live on the other side), with half a dozen or so bedrooms (including one spectacular suite with an enormous jacuzzi bathroom). The gardens around the inn are quite nice and include a gazebo. The rooms are attractively decorated in country styles, and the beds are very comfortable. The two rooms I've stayed in had antique wardrobes instead of closets, but I didn't use all the space anyway. If you need an iron, you must retrieve a portable ironing board and iron from the spacious hallway, where there is also a basket of shampoos and other amenities (only soap and body lotion are in the bathrooms, so bring your favorite shampoo). What really recommends this place, though, are the breakfasts. John and Linda cook the most amazing food, different on each morning of your stay, in a gigantic kitchen where guests can also get coffee and tea, and it's served in a large dining room. There's also an attractive garden room at the rear of the house that has a small bar and a refrigerator stocked with wine, beer, soft drinks, and bottled water, and guests can enjoy those gratis in the evenings. There's also free WiFi throughout the inn. If you arrive late, be prepared to get an envelope on the door at your arrival with instructions; this is not the kind of place that has a reception office. Think of John and Linda as friends rather than "staff," and you'll do well by them; they're really terrific people. Also be aware that the inn is about 3 miles or so from Oxford--but that also has its advantages (it's very quiet, you might see deer and other animals, and it makes for good for walks or jogs).

We three couples had a delightful one-night stay at this inn. We intended on playing golf at the nearby (1 mile) Hueston Woods Golf Course. The innkeeper arranged tee times for both days and even gave hinits about the course. So we can't blame him for our scores.

The inn is very close to the state park as well as Miami University campus, so it is convenient for either type of activities.

The innkeepers were very friendly and the gardens were beautiful. The rooms were large, even though we spent little time there because the other areas of the house were so inviting. Several public areas in the house made for lots of good conversations over a glass of complimentary wine. We have stayed in several B & B's and this was one of the few that had a fully stocked refrigerator available at no cost to the guests. The breakfast was tasty and not overpowering. Just right before walking the course.

We would definitely stay again; as a matter of fact, we discussed making the golf outing an annual event, which will surely include at least one night at the White Garden Inn.
