If you aren't familiar with Oxford, and let's face it, you probably wouldn't be reading this if you were, it's a college town full of sub shops, pizza parlors, Mexican restaurants, and hoity toity, wannabe, upscale joints. And, while that is a relatively vague generalization, it's safe to say that there aren't really any "family" restaurants that serve classic American dishes from a menu that you can understand.
Although the wonderful and personable staff (who'll get to know you and your family by name) is the only thing that set this Bob Evans restaurant apart from the herd, it does stand alone in Oxford. When my Grandparents moved to Oxford last spring, because of it's predictability and understandable menu, BE's was the only restaurant that they felt safe eating at for some time.
The Oxford location was renovated only a year ago. The dining room is clean, and as I said, the staff is wonderful. When you're looking for something easy and predictable...with a friendly smile, or the other breakfast places in town are packed, hit up Bob's.
