This little gem is on a road that takes travelers to the Ferry, with a nice lake view facing west. This affords guests warmly lit rooms at sunset.

They have rooms that are not in the main house - which we prefer when staying at a Bed and Breakfast.

Room Tip: Although we did not face the lake, we stayed in one of the cute cottage suites overlooking the lagoon behind the inn, and loved our small private deck with the lagoon view!

We just returned from an overnight at the Five Bells, and we were completely happy with our stay. We needed a last-minute, close-to-home getaway to recharge our batteries and reconnect with each other, and the Five Bells let us do both. Eileen and Jerry met us on Saturday, gave us recommendations for dinner, then got out of our way. We had a light dinner at the Canoe Club (fantastic fire-oven cooked pizzas) then came back to the Inn to watch a spectacular sunset. We visited with Jerry and Eileen and traded birding stories, then borrowed a movie from their extensive library and retired early. Sunday morning dawned sunny with the smell of homemade apple muffins--thanks, Jerry! We had a lovely cooked breakfast, a little more visiting with two wonderful hosts, then we left for sightseeing and birdwatching on the way back home. They couldn't have been better hosts, and the house couldn't have been more picturesque and private. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Room Tip: The rooms in the front of the house face Lake Erie; we stayed in the middle room with the 4-poster bed. Very comfy!

This was our second stay at the Inn. We knew what we were looking for in a short Lake Erie stay and remembered our previous stay here. Jerry and Eileen were very hospitable and professional. We stayed in room 7 which is adjacent to the lagoon. Our room was clean, comfortable, and air conditioned and we got exactly what we were expecting. This summer has been very hot and dry and the lagoon's water level was low but provided beautiful views of heron's, turtles, and an awesome bald eagle! Across the street we enjoyed wading and swimming in Lake Erie. The two sunsets were stunning! If you are looking for a relaxing B&B, we highly recommend this one. The area provides plenty of things to do as well as tour the Islands on Lake Erie.

My wife and I stayed at the Five Bells Inn adjacent to Lake Erie during the "Biggest Week in American Birding." The hospitality of our hosts was great. They provided early breakfast (6:30 a.m.) for us and other birders. The grounds are very attractive and well-kept. There is an active Bald Eagle nest on the property, as well as a pond with Mute Swans and Wood Ducks. Our room was clean, comfortable and private. Overall it was a pleasant and relaxing place for us to stay.
