Spent the morning at the zoo, its a great place to see lots of animals and the staff was really friendly. Spoke to a lady for about 10 mins about one animal could tell they really like the animals. Spent around 4 hours there that seemed like enough time maybe 5 if busy but when i got there at 9am hardly any one was there.

What a great place. Full of friendly employees that are willing to explain or answer your questions. Jack Hannah wasn’t there today so we didn’t get to see the legend. The zoo is pretty close to the Amish community and they frequent the zoo so you will see regular Amish folk walking around. Oh. They have a no plastic policy, so don’t expect a lid or a straw with your iced drink.

I’ve lived here all my life. Have seen major changes st the zoo. One of the best in the country. Polar Bear and giraffe exhibits are something to see. Not to mention our manatee exhibit. Always changing and adding new things. A family fun day for sure. Don’t forget the Wildlights during the holiday season. Such a spectacular sight.

Watch the tv show about this place, so decided to go to the zoo while traveling by. Well apparently most of the interactive exhibits with animals are closed during the week. Before I gave them my $55, They should of posted that. 50% of the outdoor enclosures has no animals in them and are empty. We came at opening and stayed until 12ish walking the grounds. Doesn’t take long if there is nothing to look at but pens full of grass. If you like turtles, it seems like they have a zillion of those. But if you fancy doing anything or seeing actual animals, I guess you have to suffer with the huge crowds on the weekends. At least we don’t need to ever suffer thru the horrible freeways around Columbus to go here again. What they show on tv isn’t the way it is. The people working there act as if you are an inconvenience if they are driving their little utility vehicles all over the park.

Four hours of walking and never got to Africa during the day but in addition to Zoo visiting, the nighttime had us at a dinner event for Muskingum University where we could celebrate Jack, the famous graduate of Muskingum and feed the Giraffes and watch the Zebras by standing just outside the dining room. This was a day I will long remember.

How much sense it makes to give people with children choices of boat rides and other activities for which they pay extra but still let those who only want to see the animals, do their thing. I like it that the extra cost goes towards research.
