We had a great stay at Glen Laurel for our first anniversary and plan on going back. The cabin was great and the food and amenities were all first class. We enjoyed drinking some scotch with the innkeeper and he recited some Bobby Burns poetry for us. It was a wonderful weekend.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Bruce Cottage and it was great.

We enjoyed two nights at the establishment in one of their private cottages for our anniversary. The cottages were beautiful, not overly extravagant but well decorated in a Scottish type of style. We had massages and food served to our cottage for all but one meal during our stay. The cottage has a private hot tub and a living area, bathroom and large comfortable bed. Overall the service was above exceptional, but it was lacking something for the hefty price tag of nearly $1,000.00 for a two nights stay. (The price of 1k includes all cash tips, additional tips on the bill, decent meals for 2 days, a couple’s massage and accommodations.)

Room Tip: It is a very expensive stay for just two nights.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We appreciate and take all guest comments with the utmost consideration. We are pleased to hear that you were able to enjoy one of our cottages, our fine dining & massage services and found all of them to be above exceptional. At Glenlaurel, we strive to create an unforgettable experience for each and every guest. We certainly do not offer the most affordable accommodations, but we believe that our exquisite 6 and 7 course meals, massage therapy, luxurious cottages, crofts & suites and 140 breathtaking acres warrant our prices in order to provide these exceptional types of amenities.

My husband and I stayed at Glen Laurel for my 40th birthday. All I have to say is we loved it. From the wonderful Croft we stayed in to the fabulous food. It was all excellent. The dinners are something not to be missed. Pricey yes- but worth every penny. The 2nd night we dined, Chef Eric actually served us. It was such a treat to talk with the chef about the food as we were served. The people there are wonderful. Our waitstaff- Byron and Marilyn were so helpful. Byron even suggested hiking spots- which we took him up on and Marilyn gave us a tour of the Pub downstairs. On the last day we got to meet Gabe, the dining manager and he showed us some of the Manor House rooms. The manager, Wes, was helpful in suggesting hiking spots as well. Just cannot say enough good things about this place.
Now on to what to do! We did alot of hiking and thought the best locales were Conkles Hollow and Rockhouse. We also saw Ash Cave which is amazing to see-sooo large. We did the zip line tour-so fun, and canoed the Hocking River. The best thing about staying at Glen Laurel is you can do as much or as little as you want and really enjoy your time. We loved being away, just as a couple with no kids around and felt that this is the perfect spot for our next big anniversary. So we will be back!

Room Tip: East Crofts have lovely screened in porches!

My husband and I spent two nights of our honeymoon here. The place is beautiful and the room was cozy. We stayed in the rooms and not the cottages. The place has a great atmosphere and the breakfast was delicious.

The walls were fairly thin, and we could hear the kitchen in the morning as they were preparing breakfast... and our neighbors. However, they were being very courteous. The internet connection was rough, but we were only getting into email and the weather, so it wasn't an issue really.

What is Glenlaurel Inn without its original innkeeper and owner? It remains a fine Inn with the pleasant ambiance of Scotland thanks to the staff that remains faithful to the vision inspired by Michael. With that said, Michael's absence is clearly felt by those of us who were deeply touched by his gracious hospitality. With a few lines of prose, Michael would awaken within his guests "the legend of Glenlaurel" . . . an enchanting world that deeply resonated in our hearts, enriching our lives with a beauty rarely experienced today. Without Michael, Glenlaurel remains a fine Inn but one without the dream and dreamer who made it possible.

Glenlaurel's spirit is alive and the original dream still grows. The gracious staff and owners strive to continue the ambiance that was originally created by Michael. Even though the dreamer is no longer at Glenlaurel, the dream is still alive and continues to grow. Change is inevitable, but the original vision is still what makes Glenlaurel so special.

We have stayed 14 nights now and plan to stay many more. My wife and I spent our honeymoon there and both of our anniversaries and no doubt will spend our third. It is hard to imagine a more perfect place to get away.
