We have stayed at Sandcastle suites for 7 years in a row and have always had a great stay. Location is very convenient, rooms are clean and pool is nice. Check in and out was easy. We were able to walk back to the hotel when we were ready for a break. Shuttle bus took us to Famous Daves after we were done riding rides. Love this hotel.

the room was very clean and quite. I enjoy my stay. Everyone was very helpful and the park was a blast. We did not have to leave we had everything right there. We will stay here again next year. The cost of getting in the park was a little too much. I would think the hotels would have a better deal for you. I enjoyed the pool area and walking on the beach. Sitting out to watch the sunrise on one side and then the sunsets.

Room Tip: the lake view was very nice

Despite some of the reviews which were critical of the hotel and size of rooms, we had a great experience. Hotel reception was friendly, room was ready by 8:30 am well ahead of schedule, and room was spacious enough for 6, despite reviews to the contrary. Pool and view of lake was awesome!

Early entry to Cedar Point is not much of an advantage as most of the rides aren't even open early. Only a few choice rides open early like Gatekeeper and a few others, but Dragster did not open early. The line from the resorts was extremely long to get in the park. It took us at least 20 minutes just to get through the gate - so goes 20 minutes of your hour early entry. Once we finally got in, we hightailed it to Gatekeeper and from there, walked and walked trying to find rides to ride before public got there. The pickings were very slim and disappointing. We loved the hotel though, and would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Get up on a higher floor with lake and pool view. You can't beat it!

After reading some reviews on here I was slightly concerned about what to expect but in the end it was fine. To call this hotel a "resort" is perhaps too kind but we found our room clean and to specification. Reception is friendly and the hotel worked well for us as we spent most of our hours in the park.

There were 3 of us in a room that had 2 doubles and we were comfortable. We saw people cleaning the windows and pool whilst we were there so they seem to have an okay maintenance team, the place must be hard work to keep fresh as it's so close to the lake.

Is within walking distance from the Park entrance and the 1 hour early entry is great - if you don't fancy the walk there is also a shuttle bus but I can't imagine it saves you much time unless you don't have to wait for one.

Room Tip: We stayed in the raptor wing, perhaps give yourself a bit more space than you think you might need.

Let me first say, the girl that checked us in was very friendly and informative and we did like the fresh coffee they had 24-7 in their lobby/tv area:) Anything after that all went downhill.........
We spent two nights, first night was ok. Second night was ridiculous!! Room full of girls across the hall set of the smoke alarm in the hallway...we tried calling front desk several times and no one would answer, my granddaughter saw a fire truck pull up outside and she was freaking out, we were getting ready to grab our stuff and leave the building when security finally answered the phone and said they're wasn't any fire. But it took them another half hour to send someone up to turn off alarm!! Needless to say didn't get much sleep......then they sent me an email asking how my stay was and I told them about everything!!! Never heard one word back from them!! Not even an I'm sorry!!! We will not be returning to this motel!!!

I apologize for the inconvenience experienced during your stay. We appreciate hearing from our guests. In the interest of guest safety, all alarms have to be fully investigated and I apologize that this process was extended. Thank you for letting us know.

The customer ahead of me in line was complaining about the cleanliness of her room. That was my first clue. The room was horrible -- air conditioner did not work. Had workmen in the room within the first hour to take a look at it. After workmen came to "fix" air conditioner, it still did not work. NO venting to bedroom or bathroom whatsoever. Smell was a mixture of stale air and terrible-smelling disinfectant in the room. Corners filled with either cobwebs or mold. Dirt, dust, and hairs on telephone. Bed was saggy, wobbly, and smelly. To top it off, staff at front desk were very uninformed and indifferent. Air conditioner man was more knowledgeable and friendly in answering our questions than the very disinterested front desk staff. We ended up moving to a different hotel for our second night's stay in the area.

Room Tip: Just say no and go to another hotel.

We just got back from a 5 day stay in Cedar Point & had a great time! Not only was the park a thrill, but the room we came back to at Sandcastle Suites was wonderful too! We slept like babies in cool, clean & comfortable beds & awoke to a hot pot of coffee waiting for us each morning. It may not have many options on site for dinner, but it did have a refreshing pool + it was a short trek down the road for some tasty wings at the Thirsty Pony (where we also enjoyed our time playing Keno) or a celebration meal at Bay Harbor (recommended!!). Famous Daves was also a short trek away, although we didn't eat there (some in our party were not fans of BBQ).

Room Tip: The Lake view rooms are both quiet & scenic.
