“Cheap miserable mattresses”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2013

There are alot of good things about this hotel, but I'll never stay again. The mattresses are so cheap and uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep, and after three hours all my joints ached. And the couch bed mattress was even worse, not suitable for anyone over three years old! The pillows were cheap flat crap; luckily we brought our own.

By 2 am I found myself wishing we had just driven the three hours home rather than suffer all night here and waste over $200 with tax. Please, Cedar Point, invest in some decent mattresses and bedding, even if you have to raise the prices! Create a "luxury wing" for people who value a good night's sleep.

Room Tip: Rent an RV and camp next door, you'll be more comfortable!

We loved Sandcastle Suites. It was perfect for our stay. Being at Cedar Point for Halloweekends is one of our favorite things to do as a company trip. This was the first time we spent the night. The suite was a decent size and a great value for a whole day at the park. With the tickets being included in the price with the room, it worked out great for us. Can't wait to go again next year!

Room Tip: The two room suite was perfect for our group of 6 people - we ended up with an extra and we bunked o...

We stayed at breakers is July beautiful hotel but the rooms at the sandcastle suites are way better! Plenty of room for 5 of us. staff was very friendly check in was easy, and check out was easy. Even tho it was a bit pricy for the night (cheaper then breakers) it's well worth it for cheap ticket prices, hour early entry, and parking you get back when check in. Next summer we are going to try the cabins and then we will decide which will be our favorite place to stay at Cedar Point! I highly recommend sandcastle suites. P.S bring your own sheets, pillows, and blankets for the pullout sofa they don't supply it for that :-)

We are glad to hear you enjoyed your visit and are confident you will also enjoy Lighthouse Point. Linens for the sofabed should have been located in the drawer. I apologize if they were not there.

We visit Cedar point during September 2013, and stay for one night in the Sandcastle suites.
The main reason was the location, very close to the park and possibility to have one hour earlier entry.
We were family of 5, including 3 teen-age boys and book two-room apartment. Overall it was enough please for everybody, although ones the coach is open it's not easy to move in the room

The overall visit was very successful - we arrive about 13:00 on Saturday (part was opened from 11:00) and got the room immediately, what was very convenience for us. After leaving the luggage in the room we use the shuttle service to get to the park - also advantage from my POV,
During the check-in we got back the money we pay for the enter to the parking area and also free pass for this and next day - it was nice extra for us.
We also got the ticket with one hour earlier enter for the Sunday and it was nice bonus.

You can check-out using the phone call, instead of wating in line, what makes it quick and simple.

Two points to improve
- internet connection was poor in the room.
- there is no luggage room, meaning you should check-out and keep your stuff in the car during full day.

The new manager is destroying Cedar Point! The hotel room, halls and elevator smelled extremely musty even though they tried to cover the stench with stinkier perfumy "deodorizer". Got a surprise on the ticket prices...they charge an extra $10 per ticket and an extra $10 per fast pass ticket on weekends!! "Small print" that you can't see of you are looking on anything but a desktop computer. We took our granddaughter and 4 friends...like it wasn't expensive enough, we got hit with additional $120. In hidden extra charges due to it being a weekend. We expressed our concerns at the front desk, was told we had to take it up with those at the gate...had to pay for tickets at the hotel THEN go to front gate to express our concerns. The room' pullout couch was very uncomfortable and looked like it was from the '80's. We could feel the springs through the seemingly disposable mattress that was on it. The bed wasn't even made. We had to make it ourselves. The rom is small and cramped. Had to walk sideways through most of it! In the Cedar Point park, friendliness, customer service and good old fashioned hospitality were also lacking. Waiting in line for our elephant ear, al staff walked off the front line after we ordered, then a new worker came out, took an order and gave our food away stating, "well, I didn't take your order, so I didn't know it was yours!"...never stopped to ask if the food was ours....even considering that we had been standing there over 5 minutes before he took someone's order. The only friendly person was the lady at the "store" in the hotel. Oh, they need to stock peanut butter at the hotel store...the prices for food was outrageous! For the price we paid at the hotel, they could at least give breakfast. We won't stay here again. We should have gone to Kalahari like we originally planned.

I apologize that you were not happy with your experience and that we couldn't resolve it while you were here. For hotel guests, the price of a one-day ticket is $34 - no matter what day of the week you visit. I'm not sure what the confusion was with that ticket. FastLane ticket pricing is based on the day you want to use them and prices subject to change. They also have limited availability and we do encourage guests to purchase those ahead of time. It is correct that we provide the linens for the sofabed, but it is not made up. I also apologize for the lack of service in the park. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us so we can share your feedback with our staff. Thank you for staying with us.

We stayed for two nights in early June at the Sand Castle suites and visited cedar point.

We drove in and came to the hotel at 10:00 am on a Tuesday morning. You need to pay the parking fee entering the peninsula, but this is paid back when you check in. Also you get a pass to enter and exit as many times while you stay at the property. The rooms were not ready and we were informed that we would get an SMS once the room was ready, We left the luggage, picked up the cedar point entry tickets for 3 days and walked to the theme park. The SMS came at around 12:30 pm and we did not want to trudge back to the hotel and came back only at 7 pm to check in. This is not an issue but I did visit last year in 2012 and could check in early at breakers express at 10 am. The down side of this arrangement is that the luggage would be in the car and needs to be moved in the evening by when the activities at the park sap the energy!

We were two adults and one child staying in the cork screw wing of the hotel. The elevator was adequate and a short walk to the room on the 2nd floor. There were two rooms where the living room had a couch, table, closet and LCD TV on the wall. The bed room had two double beds and couple of cabinets to store clothes and another TV. There was a refrigerator in the front room with a micro wave. The rooms were small in size and we did have some luggage to store. I am not sure how 6 people can cram into this place and probably would be tripping over each other! The mattresses were adequate too for a good nights sleep.

The bath had two doors opening both to the living and bed rooms so that it is accessible from both sides. The front part of the bath had a wash basin and the bath tub and commode were in a separate section with another door. Quite a number of doors for this arrangement but I guess the design allows the wash to be used separately from the tub and also accessible from multiple sections of the room.

The sand castle suites guests can access the park from two entrances by foot - the water park entrance which is close by and the beach entrance where the breakers hotel is situated. The beach pathway takes a good 10 to 15 minutes and is a pain when you are tired. At nights, there is not too much illumination and the only light is a twinkling light house. Also the sand gets blown over from the beach and some thing to watch over at night. Even though the approach is not well lighted, it was quite safe as the park to the entrance to the peninsula is allowed only for park guests.

We were not happy with the dining options on site and had to drive to the Milan road in the town which has a bouquet of eating options.

Purely looking at the cost of the hotel absolutely does not match the tariff and we paid just south of $200 per night for the accommodation. However, as documented in the reviews people staying here visit the theme park and the convenience of the access compensates for the inflated cost. Also you get to park the car free and get discounted tickets to the park.

I truly enjoyed my stay at Sandcastle Suites. I loved the close proximity to Cedar Point. The view from our room was magnificent. The room and hotel were clean at all times. The perks of staying on property are a bonus when visiting Cedar Point. I loved the hour early entrance time and because it was close we could easily take a break during the day and then hop back to the park to enjoy some evening fun.
