Ok, as mentioned in other posts, there are train tracks nearby, but we stayed at the campground for two nights and barely noticed the trains. My mother had a motor home and we stayed in one of the park cabins and could hardly hear them. Admittedly, the air conditioning was going both nights, but it wasn't too bad.
We ended up at KOA because the Cedar Point campground was booked, but we wanted to keep our annual visit to Cedar Point going.
The person who helped us with reservations was great, and booked us a nice cabin next to a spot for my mom's motor home. This was extremely convenient, and not something that we could have done at Cedar Point.
Our cabin was really nice, and seemed to be nearly brand new. There were flat screen TV's in each of the bedrooms and a big one in the dining/living room area. Multiple air conditioners kept things cool, and a nicely sized refrigerator with stove, pots and pans eliminated the need to eat out. I've stayed at the cabins at Cedar point, and these are quite a bit better with more TV's and a better layout.
On the day we headed to the park, I was apprehensive about how long it would take to get there, but it was less than a 10 minute drive.
When we got back, we made a fire and did some marshmallows, ending a fun day with a nice mellow evening.
Probably my only complaint would be the slow Wifi - my kids were less than thrilled with the speed, but I wasn't too concerned, it made them actually come outside....
The Cedar Point campground is certainly close to the park, but it is far from cheap. We are definitely going to consider KOA again next year.
