my experience was great. from beginning to end everyone I encountered was more than will to assist and ensure I was satisfied. The park may be smaller than Kalahari but their customer service is one thousand times better!

We took our two children here for a 3 night stay with a combined trip to Cedar Point amusement park. We loved it!!! The staff at check-in were very friendly and my daughter loved the leis (nice touch). The room was VERY clean and spacious, and it was a great surprise to have the microwave and fridge in room. The waterpark was great and ALL the lifeguards were friendly, respectful and courteous and made a point to get to know you and where you were from! Overall an AMAZING experience and cannot wait to return!

My husband and I are kind of picky when it comes to hotels. We don't like to spend a ton but we want the 5 star comfort. We had been looking very last minute for a place to stay while we visited Cedar Point for the weekend. I came across Maui Sands at a good price so we booked it hoping that it was good since it isn't a chain hotel that you can guess the quality. When we got there and went inside the place was very cool. Awesome decor to go with the Maui theme. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Corey helped us and even upgraded us from 2 queen beds to a king and 2 bunk beds for free! We also met Doc who was the night attendant who was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, neat, and also nicely decorated. They even had Bath and Body Works soaps! We did not use the waterpark this stay but might the next time we come. The free breakfast in the morning was a full breakfast with eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, pancakes, hashbrowns, toast, cereal and juice. For how last minute we booked this (that morning) we were very happy with the price. They even managed to get a room for our friends who decided to drive up and meet us for the same price. They made our weekend very enjoyable. We will be back here again.

The only things that were amazing was the shower curtain liner was kind of stained from water and there were pump soap dispensers in the shower but they were empty. But these things didn't bother me.

We took our two year old here for a two nights stay for Cedar Point. First off, arrival and check-in were great and the front desk staff was very nice! Met Doc and he is a real character in a great way! Really likes his job and your business for sure. Second, room was clean and one of the nicer rooms in the Sandusky area #2107. (There are no Crowne Plazas here lol) Fridge and microwave in room with Bath and Body works products. A/C worked great. Only one minor hiccup and that was the bath tub plug would not work and baby could not take a proper bath but no biggie. Free breakfast daily 7-930am included Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, pancakes, breakfast potato, sausage links, cereals, orange and apple juice, multiple types of bread for toast, etc.. and was nice. The only improvements I would like to see are maybe some bacon and make your own waffles, but hard to argue with free.. The restaurant was kind of a let down, more like a snack bar really. They also have a full service bar with friendly bartenders. They do have a nice dining area and it would be great if they utilized it better with a full service restaurant. Small arcade for play. There is an applebees restaurant within walking distance and a super Walmart across the street, The only real issue we had was some problems with the water park, but Mike the General Manager of the Water Park resolved this very professionally on check in and I am sure it won't happen again. Overall a nice hotel and great staff with the exception of few in the waterpark area. I would go back and recommend it to others.

Took 4 Teenagers to Cedar Point for end of summer trip. After a long day, I checked in and the staff was both helpful and accommodating. Teens had a great time, definitely enjoyed the Grand Slide---frankly they wished that we had spent more time at the Waterpark. We were there less than 24 hours and the following people impressed us with their service: Chistine-front desk, Doc and Tricia. Everyone we encountered greeted us with a smile. Only issue was the confusing room number and floor. Rooms were clean and roomy, Definitly will return. Great price, great experience.

Room Tip: If you can, get a room near the Wate Park

We took our 3 year old son to this resort for vacation this year and loved it! It was very affordable compared to the other resorts nearby. We got a deal of buy two nights get the third free which included the waterpark, breakfast and free wifi. It's not your brand spanking new hotel and in some spots you can tell it was an older resort they restored but there was defiantly nothing alarming because of that. In my opinion one of the best parts of the room was the fact my son had his own nook with bunkbeds and a tv in so we were able to stay up after he went to sleep. The waterpark was just the right size for a toddler and also fun for the rest of the family. If there was a downfall I would say that you can hear people walking and talking as they walk by your room in the hallway.

We recently took a trip and stayed at the Maui Sands and we had a great stay. Upon check in, we were greeted by a very warm staff. The lobby and rooms were very clean. As a large family always looking for a great deal, we stayed in the room with the bunks. There was plenty of room. We were in the room to sleep and I personally don't need to have an over abundance of space. We spent the day in the water park which was also very clean and staffed appropriately.
My parents were also on this trip. Initially, there room smelled of smoke. They addressed it with the staff and they immediately apologized and moved them to a new room with a complimentary upgrade.
The breakfast bar had everything one could ask for. The food had a good taste and was nice and hot. There was plenty of space to eat and the staff replenished the food regularly.

After reading many reviews, I can't "not" mention meeting Doc. This guy was a pure joy. I think his job description may be just to make people smile. He is warm and inviting and very helpful. He treated my kids to some tokens and pointed them in the way of the Arcade. He gave my little guy a dinosaur which is his new favorite toy. Thanks Doc! : )

Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and it gets 20 (literally 20) thumbs up from my family!!

As you know we are a non-smoking hotel and do not tolerate any smoking in our rooms. We have addressed this issue and hope they you will bring your large family back for more fun!
