Stayed here with two kids and my wife. The beds were a bit uncomfortable and the pillows were awful. The therapy pool was nice but very small. Good for very young kids only. There are tons of jagged edges all over the surface of it though. Breakfast ends very early for no real reason. Nothing terrible about it really but we will try another hotel next time.

Thank you for taking the time to rate and review your recent stay with us. Although mostly a positive review, I am disappointed to hear that we didn't exceed your expectations--as that is our goal with every one of our guests. Our guests are told upon check-in what time our breakfast hours are and have actually been set as a result of the times the majority of our guests have told us work for them. I am also surprised to hear that you found the beds to be less than luxurious or comfortable as that is something that we get compliments on from many of our guests. However, we also realize that firmness/softness of a mattress is often times a personal preference and obviously, 100% of the people are not all going to agree.

At any rate, thank you for giving us the opportunity to be of service to you. It would be our pleasure to do so again in the future should you decide to give us another try!

I thought they had very good customer service, the hotel was nice, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The only downfall was they didn't have a hot tub or pool. They did let you use the hotel next door for the swimming and hot tub facilities. Overall it was a great hotel to stay at.

Thanks for choosing to stay with us and for offering a great rating and review of your stay. While it is true that we have only a small therapy pool in the lower level of our hotel, as you point out, we offer the use of the indoor and outdoor pool and Cabana Bar at our sister property next door. Guests seem to really like being able to take advantage of this additional amenity.

We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you back again soon!

This is a good hotel to stay in if you are planning to be out and about a lot. It is conveniently located, close to all major attractions, a lot of restaurants and grocery stores. While amenities are pretty basic, hotel is kept clean and rooms are regularly re-stocked with clean towels and supplies. Breakfast is basic, but helpful to have it onsite free. Workout room is an additional plus. We liked that windows can be opened to let in fresh air.

My daughter and I were in Sandusky, Ohio for a dance competition. We picked the Best Western because it was rated #1 on Trip Advisor. We checked in on Sunday, June 22. There was a beer cap in the couch cushion, the coffee table was broken, the TV reception was poor, the mini fridge was leaking water and there was a used coffee pod in the coffee maker. Shoddy housekeeping, but not a big deal so we went to the competition. We returned to our room at midnight and my daughter climbed into bed. She said the bedding was wet. I felt the bed and it was very damp. I called the front desk and spoke to Karen. She said we could switch rooms but since it was so late and we had to be up early in the morning, my daughter and I just both slept in the other bed. On closer inspection in the morning, I found out that the bed was wet because the mattress pad was urine soaked! I put my hand on it and my daughter laid on top of it! Way beyond gross! I talked to Art at the front desk (there was no manager on duty) and he said that Housekeeping doesn't ever change the mattress pads. How can a Housekeeper miss such an enormous problem? Art took off the charge for the night and moved us to another room. The second room had leftovers in the fridge, and a huge centipede climbing up the wall, but at least the bedding was clean. There was a coffee maker, but no coffee supplies. The knob that controls the mini fridge was broken too.

Just before we left for day 2 of the competition, my daughter used the bathroom. She came out saying that the toilet was clogged. We didn't have time to address that issue at the time, so we went to the competition. When we came back at 11:00 that night, we spoke with Karen at the front desk. She said she could move us to yet another room! We were exhausted and didn't want to move all our belongings plus dance costumes again. Karen said that there was no maintenance worker or plungers on the premises. How can you run a hotel without maintenance employees or basic tools like plungers! At midnight, Karen came to the room with a plunger that she got from the hotel next door. I had to plunge the toilet to get it working again and had to plunge it several times during the remainder of our stay.

All area hotels were full due to the dance competition or I would have checked out after the first night! Art and Karen were very kind and helpful, but the best employees in the world can’t make up for the fact that my daughter sat on a urine soaked bed and that I had to play plumber for the entire stay. In all my years of traveling, I have never encountered such a poorly run hotel with such dreadful housekeeping. If this is the quality of the Best Western brand, I am turning in my Rewards card and taking my business elsewhere.

First, thank you for taking the time to rate and review your recent stay with us. Obviously, this is not the kind of review we're used to getting as we've consistently been ranked the #1 hotel in the Sandusky area.

I have had a chance to discuss your situation with the General Manager and this is what I learned. The front desk staff and the General Manager were not made aware of any of the issues that you brought up when you first checked into the room. We were not notified until the next morning. If we had been notified by you right when you checked in, we could have rectified this issues immediately. The bed that you spoke of was inspected and it was not urine stained. There was no color or odor--other than that of chlorine. This leads us to believe that someone probably sat on the bed with a wet swim suit. We DID offer to move you to another room, but you declined the offer. On the third day, because we were now aware of the problems you encountered, you were upgraded to a jacuzzi room at no additional charge. When you checked out of the hotel, we were sure to ask you how the remainder of your stay was and you said that you were satisfied with how we rectified the problems. You were then given a FULL refund for the entirety of your stay.

If you still feel as though there is something more that could be done to satisfy you, please contact the General Manager at the hotel directly. It is our aim to have every guest completely satisfied--as evidenced by your upgrade and our willingness to give you a full refund for the full stay.

As we were planning our visit to Cedar Point, Ohio, we thought we would book one of the hotels connected with the amusement park. After reading multiple reviews on how outdated and run-down those hotels were, we decided to look for someplace else to stay. We did our research on trip advisor definitely made a good choice with this hotel! Rooms were clean and modern, excellent phone signal and free WiFi with excellent connection. Our room (208) included a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, and a sitting area with a desk & couch. Our family of 4 did not feel cramped at all. Beds were on the soft side and bedding was clean and cozy. Location was perfect, about 10-15 min drive to the amusement park. Plenty of restaurants and shopping to meet your needs. staff was pleasant. There was a decent Continental breakfast served daily. Overall, this hotel met our needs perfectly since we were out all day at Cedar Point. We would definitely stay here again!

The room itself was very nice (expect-able) it's just basic. Your 2 beds, a desk, tv, etc. The bathroom was nice, water pressure was surprisingly good. You have to walk over to the hotel next door for the pool (Outdoor has a cabana bar and indoor pool includes a hot-tub) the indoor part needed some attention, felt old and unclean. The pool was chlorine drenched and the sauna in the pool area was non-working. The pools are handicap accessible. Didn't like having to walk next door a few hundred yards next to rodent traps/dumpsters/parking lot to get to a sub-par pool. The onsite "hot breakfast" was extremely disappointing. Sausage aka rubber circles, gross fried eggs, passable sausage gravy and make your own pancakes was the bar with some biscuits and toast, coffee/juice, dry cereal with milk in a fridge, and yogurt. It was something that was not worth even the free price. Room is a 7/10 Overall 6/10 parking 5/10 Location 7/10 (it's on 250 so it's within a few miles of a lot of restaraunts and 5 miles or so from Cedar Point.

Thank you for taking the time to rate and review your recent stay with us. I'm sorry that we did not live up to your expectations because, as you can see, we're the #1 rated Sandusky hotel on TripAdvisor.

We ARE continuing to refine our breakfast offerings and your comments in this area certainly do underscore the fact that this is an important amenity to our guests.

We DO actually have an indoor therapy pool in the lower level of our hotel. However, we also allow our guests use of the indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzi, sauna, and Cabana Bar at our sister property next door. We will certainly look into the cleanliness issues you raised with the indoor pool area.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. I'm hoping you'll give us an opportunity in the future to prove our commitment to continuous quality improvement!

Don't book anywhere else. This hotel gets 5 stars for service, cleanliness and perks. just be sure to know that the jacuzzi suites shown in pics are pricier than the standard rooms featured. Other than that mishap, best hotel of the trip
