This was my first trip to the new location. It has a relaxed atmosphere and isn't the least bit pretentious. We were seated right away without reservations on a friday evening. The menu has a little bit of everything and you are sure to find something that suits your tastes. The wine list is very good with a great selection of old and new world wines. The selection of beers is good. The service was excellent. The presentation, quality, and quantity of our meals was excellent. Everything was fresh and delicious. The desserts were very good. Price is in line with what I would expect for a fine dining experience. A great option for fine dining in Sandusky.

Don't let the exterior fool you - this is a charming little spot in downtown Sandusky. If you want casual, the front of the restaurant is for you, but it is worth going back to the main dining room for an expansive menu and great food. We came in on a Monday night - fresh off the rides at Cedar Pointe, wind blown and disheveled, and they could not have been nicer to us. It was an unexpected pleasure to order appetizers of escargot, salt and pepper calamari and fresh oysters on the half shell. All excellent.

The sea scallop entrée was delicious, the steak with truffle oil frites was dynamite and all four of us agreed they were the best frites we had ever had, crispy and tasty. A pasta with wide egg noodles, spring peas, asparagus and assagio cheese was heaven. The Mussels Arrabiata,
an appetizer special, made an excellent main meal especially when the delicious focaccia bread was dipped into the sauce.

They had a pretty good wine list and beer selection. We never made it to dessert but we will definitely be back next year - and we'll save room.

We sat an ate on the more casual side called The Hearth and it was still a very nice environment. The Zinc side was extremely pricey. We all got brick oven pizzas because that was about all you could get on that side. There was some interesting choices and the 3 we got were all very good. That is coming from someone who is not a fan of that type of pizza! Service was quick and friendly. Good wine choices and in general a great place to go if you want a step up from a sports bar.

While this is a hot spot in Sandusky, the food is just okay. I wanted to love it, but I've had better french onion soup and brick oven pizza elsewhere.

On a previous visit, filet was good - not great.

From start to finish we were all raving! Huge selection of wine and very expansive menu. Came here last summer and am impressed with the new location, large wine selection and of course Danielle who is the best! They even have delicious brick oven pizza. Must try Zinc when in Sandusky!!
