Description: The Root Beer Stand has been a close-knit family operation from day one and remains so today. As a matter of fact, both of our main cooks met the men they married while working at The Stand. They were carhops back in the 60's, and still enjoy the fast-paced work. And the root beer.

“Amazing footlongs and rootbeer”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

The Rootbeer Stand looks like an old drive-in restaurant when you first see it, but you must go inside to order. If you come during their prime-time, you may have to shove your way through the crowd. After you finally get your order in, the food is ready in about 5 minutes and it's time to dig in. My favorite item on the menu is the Timmydog, a footlong that comes with Chili, Onions, Hot Sauce, Cole Slaw, Mustard, Ketchup, Relish, Sauerkraut and Chedder Cheese. It tastes ridiculously good despite been very messy. The rootbeer also tastes homemade and is very good.

“Best Root Beer Ever!”
Reviewed 6 March 2014

If you like root beer, you need to experience some at the Root Beer Stand. Excellent. It is a cozy place to visit (on a date or with family), but it is small and not much seating, so you may not get a seat. There are, though, picnic tables and a small playground for summertime. I thought the price was a little high, so we just go as a special treat about one time a year. Very good food.

“It takes you back”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

Retro is written all over this place. Remember getting those frosty mugs full of A&W root beer brought by carhops on the trays that hooked onto your car windows? Well you can still get the root beer. Sorry, but the carhops and trays are gone. A quick bite of hotdogs (with or without chili, cheese, and onions), burgers, and other sandwiches are all good. This is not haute cuisine, but it is consistent.

“A must visit”
Reviewed 2 August 2013 via mobile

Sure it's crowded at times and you might have to get your food to go or eat outdoors. But if you love a really good hot dog and root beer, it's pretty much the best in the area. Don't put off visiting; they're only open from Spring thru Fall.

“Love these root beer floats!”
Reviewed 25 July 2013

Cool, nostalgic place. Very little inside seating & can be hard to edge in to place your order during rush hours as it's so tiny, but the home brewed root beer is worth it. Prices are reasonable & burgers are good too.
