“Great price for the area”
Reviewed 3 January 2011

We stayed at this hotel with a basketball team that was playing in a holiday basketball tournament in the area. We got a group discount and all of the rooms were together on the same floor. The rooms had recently been redone which were nice. The hallways and bathrooms showed some wear and tear but the hotel was clean and quiet. The indoor pool was nice for the players to use after their game. We ate at the hotel restaurant Max & Erma's twice and I don't think they were prepared for a big group because the service was very slow but the food was fine. This hotel is close to Ikea and the new Cincinnati Premium outlet mall. There was a large Marriott in the area, but this hotel had the better price.

Initially we were kind of disappointed when we got this hotel on Priceline, after reading some of the negative reviews. It turned out to be great, especially for $40. The hotel was clean (though a bit on the older side), the indoor pool area was beautiful, the gym was sufficient, the bed was comfortable, and the attached restaurant was great. Our room even had a fridge and microwave, which was a nice bonus. We had absolutely no complaints about our stay here and will definitely keep it in mind for future trips to the Cincinnati area.

Tried to get into a closer hotel to Oxford, but it was Parents' Weekend at Miami so we had to stay here. Didn't expect it to be so old/worn down looking. Staff was OK. Nice pool right off lobby. Clean & comfortable. The attached restaurant was good & accomodated a large group for breakfast a half hour before closing. Waitress was top-notch! Also fast food within walking distance.

We planned our weekend trip to Cincinnati/Newport for weeks in advance. We thought our hotel room here was a foregone conclusion, due to having called not once but TWICE to ensure accomodations were set for us and our 4 children - 6 people total. Imagine our shock when we arrived and were given 1 king size bed and a full size pull out sofa? Obviously that left 2 with no where to sleep so upon pointing this out to the front desk we were told not to worry that 2 roll aways were on the way. When they were opened in the room every inch of floor was covered by beds. There was no way to walk to the rest room or even open the exit door. We explained this MUST be against fire code and asked for a bigger room or adjoining rooms. We were told there are no bigger rooms and no adjoining rooms available. So basically if we wanted to stay at our own risk then that is what was all they could do. So because we love our kids and want them safe we packed up and drove around an unfamiliar town for an hour until we found a proper hotel with availibility and accomodations for 6. By the time we were settled we had wasted an entire day of vacation and had some really disappointed kids. It was horrible service after we had done our due dilligence to try to prevent this kind of mess. When I asked to speak to the Manager I was told he couldn't come out but was given his business card so Mr. Art Santomo you ought to be ashamed of yourself for not having the courage to come out and deal with us, for intentionally wanting me to endanger my children and for having lost a frequent traveling family from the client list of any Holiday Inn ever again.

We booked our stay on Priceline. It was a great deal. Someone at the pool mentioned that they booked for a little less, but we were shocked our offer had even been accepted at the rate we had offered to pay. The hotel was obviously older and could use a little work in a few areas, but our room was very clean. The indoor pool (didn't go to outdoor pool) was also clean. We enjoyed our stay and considered it to be such a great value that we have booked a stay in a few weeks to take our son to the zoo.

We booked this hotel on priceline for one night after seeing a Red's game. The hotel looked old and dingy on the outside and inside as well. Neither of the pools were open even though it was labor day weekend. The check-in staff was friendly. Housekeeping was still in the room when we got there and spraying febreze around the bed. The room size was ok but the furnishings were drab and old. I am glad we only stayed there one night. I don't think it deserves the 3 star rating.

Upon arrival, the hotel staff was working diligently cleaning the lobby areas and windows; however, when we arrived at our room; the room itself appeared to be clean; however, the entry door was black with filth, and a dead but was found in the pull out sofabed (no not a bedbug, but a wasp looking bug.) The next day we left out our hang tag to have our room cleaned upon exiting (around 9:30 a.m.). Although we did not return from our activities until 10:00 p.m. our room had not been attended to. The desk person offered no apology or explanation, but said he would send up housekeeping. Housekeeping arrived 10 minutes later with towels. Overall, I believe this hotel has potential, but they need to tidy up some loose ends in cleanliness and service
