We actually prefer this branch over busy Dayton's. They have a healthy amount of entertaining for kids of different types. My 2,5 loves all the riding bikes, watch the train, and play in the toy house. There are plenty of craft activities like coloring pages. And the place is not packed!

I love taking my grandkids here! the people are friendly and you can tell they enjoy working there. there is something for everyone to do . It is affordable for one visit or you can get a membership if you plan on going lots of times and to visit the one in Dayton.

Previous reviewer stated that this museum is in a mall. It is not. Other than that I agree with what was stated. There was lots of playing and learning going on. A nice variety of displays and hands on activities. We went here at the beginning of an 80 day trip across the US. I was concerned that it might be geared toward children younger than our 11 year old son. We went here because when you buy a membership you get free or reduced admission to many science centers, zoos and aquariums. Usually science centers have reciprocity with science centers and zoos and aquariums with other zoos and aquariums. This was one place that got you both. The membership more than paid for itself by gaining us entry to several other science centers and an aquarium during our trip. Boonshoft had enough to keep our son interested for a couple of hours.

This is a tough one to write. The children can both play and learn here. This could be a great educational experience for kindergarten through middle school students. There are many hands on activities for children. Most of these activities are educational. Examples are levers, light and electricity. Many displays need an adult to explain to the young child what is happening. There are also play areas where children can build with large foam blocks or play kitchens. Boonshoft in this town is underutilized because of its location and generally not crowded, therefore, there are not programs being presented at all times. They do have a schedule for presentations. As an adult, I also learned from the displays and presentations. My recommendation is to call them and ask when programs will be presented on a specific day. It is in a mall so one adult could stay with the children while the other shops. The workers here are friendly, seem to enjoy working with the children and are receptive to questions. The place is clean. The ticket is good for all day so you can go there, go to lunch and return. One unique display is a very large model train display with several working trains. It is interactive in that buttons can be pushed to turn on circus displays, etc. I recommend going here, but plan your stay. With young children, you may want to bring a camera.
