What a great trip! My wife and I have been trying out various bed and breakfasts in the midwest and have been over to the Hocking Hills area several times. This B and B caught my eye so instead of heading over there we made a reservation for two nights at Murphin Ridge.

It's in a remote area, east of Cincinnati. It's quiet, Amish in the surrounding area and really quite interesting. As we drove into the property I suspected we might be in for a treat. And we were! We were promptly greeted at the desk, checked in and off to our cabin. We were celebrating my birthday so we had reserved, Celebration for our stay. It was clean, open, airy, delightful with a king sized bed, hot tub, and all the necessities. Included were not so necessary but much appreciated items like cookies and ice!

The dining at the Inn was superb! Delicious meal after delicious meal, including hot donuts fresh from the Miller Bakery next door on Saturday morning! We made sure to go back to give our compliments to the chef.

We wandered the trails at the Inn, roamed the area looking at antiques and furniture and just relaxed in a terrific place.

Anyone looking for a break, this is your place! We'll go back many times!

Room Tip: the Woods Cabins are great

My husband and I have stayed at Murphin Ridge Inn several times in the past 10 years. It has been our place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature and it's slower pace. Care is taken in every detail at the Inn. An amazing breakfast comes with your stay (I loved the homemade granola over yogurt) and the dinner menu has quality choices to make everyone happy. The blazing campfire located outside of the restaurant brings guests together to enjoy quiet conversation. The cabins we have stayed in have a jetted tub and gas fireplace. The unique furnishings are beautifully crafted.
There are many things to do in the area but if you want to stay put at Murphin Ridge, they have several nice hiking trails on the property that offer peeks at the ridges and valleys that make the area special.
Finally, before visiting this fall I was concerned when I heard that ownership had changed during the past year. After visiting, I can say I feel confident that Murphin Ridge is in excellent hands and I will enjoy coming back in the future. Thank you Paula, Jerry and especially Andy for making our weekend a great one.

This an excellent place to get away from it all and enjoy Southern Ohio countryside at its best. Nestled in Amish country, there are places nearby to visit and one can relax and adjust to a slower pace of life. Enjoyed conversations with other guests around the outdoors log fire and also during meals. New owners are keeping up the high standards of comfort and personal service.

As always (we've been coming for many years), everything was wonderful. The new owners have stepped in and done a great job keeping everything smooth. One of our favorite places because you get gourmet meals, but dress is casual, as you tend to go from the outdoor fire pit to dinner and back to the fire under clear skies with many stars. See some of the same people who return year after year the same time and get the same room/cabin. We will return next October, but will probably sneak in a mid-week visit next spring -- cold enough for a fire at night.

Just got home from a lovely weekend at the Inn. We stayed in one of their cozy cottages. It was a chilly rainy Saturday and the lovely fire in the cabin made it warm and welcoming. It is peaceful and serene there. A perfect place to get away from our crazy lives and just power down. No TVs in the room - just the rain on the roof.

The restaurant is quit nice with beautiful views of the gardens at breakfast time and a cozy fireplace in the evening. The food was pretty fine. If you like ribs make sure you are there for Jerry's fabulous ribs on Saturday nights. Get there early as they go fast.

Thanks to Paula and Jerry for a lovely weekend. We have already reserved our cabin for next year.

Room Tip: Spring for a cabin. The rooms are nice, but the cabins are just special. You are literally out in...

Whether you want a spacious room or a quiet little cabin in Amish country, Murphin Ridge is a tremendous place to visit. We have gone numerous times with friends and will be returning this coming weekend. You are free from televisions and all external noise unless you count the bird songs. They have a decent restaurant and a very competent staff. Local attractions include Millers where you can get anything from a homemade donut to a cherry dining table.

It's about relaxation, quiet, star gazing, and just being there. Great place to go for a few days.

Room Tip: I prefer cabins to their rooms but both are quite nice. Book early if you want to stay in the fall

We had the pleasure of staying at Murphin Ridge Inn Oct 3 and 4th. We had a wonderful time. Jerry and Paula could not have made our stay more enjoyable. We had dinner on the 4th which was excellent. We plan on going back next year.
