This is a gracious old hotel situated on a golf course adjacent to Wooster College. The setting is lovely, as are the lobby and dining room. The guest rooms are rather small and dated (and by dated, I mean "out-dated", not charming period pieces). We stayed in July and the corridor to our room smelled very musty. Due to high humidity our room door stuck and required a good yank to open it. The bathroom was tiny. It was adequate for a night's stay, but it looked more promising from the photos.

The Wooster Inn is perfectly located for a visit to the College of Wooster campus. There are a variety of room sizes to choose from and the views out to the golf course and tree lined streets are lovely any time of year. I choose to stay at the Inn three or four times a year because the staff are friendly and and the location is great. I enjoy the pub downstairs for an evening drink and for the opportunity to see students and faculty members from campus who drop in for a casual meal or social time. I enjoy the convenience of the on site pub, but usually visit one of the fine restaurants downtown for meals out. I do agree with other reviewers that the continental breakfast offerings could be improved . The Inn itself is slowly being updated. Many rooms are in need of freshening, but my stays have never been unsatisfactory. Overall, the plusses of staying at the Inn far outweigh any negatives when I visit my Wooster student.

The restaurant is nice, however, the room was dated and smells moldy. While on the surface, the room seemed clean, the bathroom needed major work. The shower had mold around the perimeter of the floor and throughout the base. It was filthy and needed a scrub brush taken to the floor. The shower head needed to be cleaned as it was obviously clogged. The bathroom floor was also dirty and needed a good scrubbing. The floor had ground in dirt as well as the grout needed cleaning. In addition, the windows did not have blinds, so when we shut the curtains they were over the air conditioner thus blocking airflow into the room. If they were to remodel, they would book rooms all the time. They have a great location, but I would not stay there again unless they update the place.

In June I was invited to go to the Wooster Inn for a wine dinner. It was a fabulous night. While I didn't love every wine, the food was wonderful and matched well. The portion sizes were also perfect for a five course dinner. Loved it!

As a graduate of The College of Wooster, I was looking forward to our stay at the Wooster Inn. We were disappointed, but let's start with what was good. The building is beautiful and well located just off the College campus. The staff were uniformly courteous and made every effort to be helpful even though some appeared to be poorly trained. There is no elevator and we had two heavy suitcases. This was no problem. A staff member led us to the freight elevator and saw that we were settled in our room. She said that the room seemed cold (it was) so brought us an electric heater. That's when the problems began. We settled in for a nap but could not sleep because the radiator emitted loud gurgling noises even though it gave off no heat. A staff member came up and said it needed adjustment which she did. There was still no heat but the noises continued -- and were still evident when we came back from the mediocre and inexpertly served dinner downstairs. We asked for help and were told that the heat never came on unless it was 57 degrees outside -- a different answer than we'd had previously. We were offered three other rooms which we inspected but two of them had radiators with the same gurgling noise. We were tired and decided to stick with what we had but the noise in the radiator continued all night and all of the next day. The room was OK except for a foul odor in the shower drain. Breakfasts were modest and cereal bowls were dirty on both days. We heard some people getting on a wait list to stay at the Inn for graduation in 2014. Unless changes are made in this establishment, they may wish they had stayed elsewhere.

My 10 year old daughter and I stayed Friday and Saturday night. We planned for a weekend to visit Amish Country. The Woster Inn was charming, clean and lovely. Like a Bed and Breakfast setting. (1950's motif). The parking was plentiful, beautiful golf couse view and friendly staff. We were in a 2 mile driving distance of a huge mall area. We had a blast and would recommend this charming hotel to people staying in Wooster, Ohio. Only negatives: No mini refrigerator in room or hair conditioner. We were never told about the free continential breakfast from 7-10am.

Really enjoyed our stay. We spent 2 nights in this hotel. The women working behind the desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was great. We were in town for a family event and had very little free time so unfortunately we did not get to experience the restaurant. We did get a drink at the outside bar. The man behind the bar was less customer-oriented than the rest of the staff. I would gladly stay at this hotel again.
