“Not the Ritz, but adequate.”
Reviewed 3 January 2014

We were dead tired after 9 hours of driving through freezing rain in MO. so we didn't check around for other accommodations. For $62 it was what we needed with free WiFi, a small fridge and a queen bed. If our room was as dirty as some other reviews say, we didn't notice it. Slept well even though we were on the highway side of the building. We do use a portable humidifier when we're on the road so it may have drowned out some of the noise. The free breakfast was lacking in choices. All in all, not a bad place to stay.

The hotel is extremely run down. We reserved multiple rooms by calling directly to the motel and when we arrived we were given rooms on the back side of the motel, that no person could have stayed in! They were dirty, smelled horrible - all the rooms - and had holes and bodily stains on the bed linen. The refrigerator and microwave had obviously been "swiped" down with a very nasty rag, because the scum was still there. Ugh.

When we went back to the front office, the office person was understanding, and relocated all of us to other rooms. She said the rooms on the back side of the hotel were usually given to truck drivers. In the new rooms, the sheets were still stained, and even had burn holes in some of them. It need renovation badly and I would STRONGLY advise you take a look at your room before you agree to take it. We will not be staying or recommending this motel to anyone.

Room Tip: There really isn't any way to get a good room. They are all in poor condition.

My husband and I were very impressed with the size and cleanliness of our room! The bed was very comfortable not rock hard like other high priced hotels. Well worth the price! Staff was very friendly and attentive. We forgot our gift bag in room and Simi Call us and let us know we picked up that after 3days. we would definitely stay again.

The personnel was polite. The room was good as well. It was worth the money. Didn't have any issues. The access to the property is little challenging as you have to go trough a truck stop and gas station.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving while visiting relatives in nearby Eufala. Our rooms were not clean. The carpets looked like they hadn't been washed in a decade and the bath curtains were soaked with dinge and mold. The arm chair in the bedroom was covered in stains. The bathroom floor had not been swept or washed in the corners or near the shower or door jam. There was trash all over the property and the rooms smelled of smoke. Even picking up a little bit around the property would have made a big difference!

The free continental breakfast was a joke. They had one pot of coffee on, a juice machine, and pre wrapped little Debbie type pastries. Two tables for two available. Fortunately there is a Denny's across the street.

I was confused about the maid service. Each morning while we were at Denny's for breakfast across the street, housekeeping took our wet towels but didn't replace them with fresh towels so we had to hunt down new towels when we returned from breakfast to shower. The explanation was that the laundry machine was on the fritz. Um, ok well don't take our wet towels then! They also did not replenish our toilet paper or make our beds or tidy at all.

The beds were actually pretty comfortable and it was nice that each room had a fridge and microwave, though our fridge froze everything we put in it, even on the warmest setting. Our heating panel was broken so we couldn't adjust the temperature. it was either freezing or stifling hotel. The tv was good. Unfortunately this hotel is the only game in town in Checotah. The hotel staff was friendly, so there's at least that.

bed comfortable and in a big picture the room was clean. the details were lacking - for example line of dirty/dusty carpet along walls shows that the staff doesn't take the effort to clean at a high level. found other evidence of this in a slightly moldy shower curtain. staff at desk was very nice and 'chatty'. outside doesn't look like much and located behind a run-down truck stop. across the street is a nice, modern, FlyingJ truck stop with a Denny's.
