Horrible room. Beds are lumpy and hard. The shower was like standing in an old telephone booth...very small and very old. Do something different than staying here. My daughter invited us to Lake Tenkiller for the weekend, and we decided to go at the last minute. This was the only place with availability, and now I know why. We were told it had been "remodeled" but no amount of remodel could help this place.

We waited too long to book cabins for a weekend at lovely Tenkiller Lake, and therefore had to take what was available. We booked three of the Cookson Country Cabins and were pleasantly surprised at how perfect they were to spend quality time with my parents, brother, and his family. We felt at home with the old-fashioned country decor. The outdoor planters overflow with color. The kitchen was adequate for cooking, and the outdoor picnic tables and chairs made for good family together times. We were looking for a place away from city noise, and we found it. The owners are friendly, and they continue to upgrade the cabins. We also peeked into the motel rooms and decided that they too would be an alright place to spend the night - if you aren't expecting luxury but rather a place blossoming with personality. Someday we want to go back.

This literally was our last resort, as we planned a last minute labor day trip to Lake Tenkiller. Upon arrival it was quite daunting to see the "motel/store/cabins" we were supposed to stay in. This is truly a COUNTRY place and very much overpriced considering the lack of amenities. We had box tv's with maybe 3-4 channels. The OU game was playing and we were assured at time of reservation we would be able to watch it in our "motel" room. Needless to say we missed the game due to lack of channels. These rooms do not have coffeemakers, instead you must walk to the country cafe or store to PURCHASE coffee after you paid $75 for a $50 room. Naturally while on an overnight road trip one would expect maid service the next day or at least some fresh towels, Uppon discovering the lack of fresh linens, I go to look for a "motel" phone to call the front office and guess what, no phone. The showers remind you of something from a 4-H Camp and if you are very wide at all beware. The sinks are what you'd expect in a pre-school they sit so low to the floors. Overall, this was probably one of the worst experiences I've seen in quite some time in reference to amenities and customer service. Although this room was clean it clearly was not worth the $75 fee we paid. T

Room Tip: The breakfast burrito was good at the country cafe.
