This museum is one of my all-time favourites and I have seen many, many museums! It is located in a small town on the famous Chisholm Trail and from the minute you walk in, you feel like you are right there with the cowpokes. From the bigger-than-life movie of the cattle drive where you actually smell the coffee and feel the thunderstorm rain, to the interactive country store and chuckwagon meal to Mr Chisholm himself (a robot so lifelike you feel he is real) telling you his story by the campfire under the stars, you leave the museum with the impression you have really participated in a cattle drive. The museum also houses western art and has temporary exhibits. The lifesize bronze statue out front of the cattle and the cowpokes is impressive also. A wonderful place to visit for the young and not-so-young. It is "human size" so you can see all of the exhibits in a couple of hours. Top-notch!
