Daylight Donuts started in the Tulsa area over 50 years ago and apparently have around 1000 branches around the US and even a few branches overseas these days.
Visited a branch in Edmond 25 years ago or so and was pleased to see that Daylight Donuts was still going strong in this local community during a recent visit to the OKC area.
Made a stop at this Daylight donuts on Willow Creek shopping centre at NW 178th and Santa Fe and tried the apple fritter (US$1.40). The fritter looked, smelled and tasted exactly as I remember from many years ago. It was a large serving of moist cinnamon and apple flavoured flat donut with plenty of sweet icing. Not the healthiest of breakfasts but it certainly tasted great (rating 4.25 of 5), significantly better than apple fritters varieties that we have in donut and coffee shops in Asia.
Glad to see that Daylight Donuts has survived, thrived and continues to serve the Edmond community tasty donuts (and fritters). This is a decent option for those traveling through this part of the country, interested in a classic, old-school American donut shop.
