The Roger Miller Museum
Ranked #2 of 4 things to do in Erick

My husband and I been wanting to visit the Roger Miller Museum for years and finally made the trip for my birthday. We weren't disappointed! The museum is small but has really amazing pieces of Roger Miller's history and shouldn't be missed. The only thing that I could say that needs to change at this museum is to put up blinds-- one of Roger's shirts on display has been bleached by the sun! Other than that, I loved this place and will definitely try to make it back.

This is a very nice museum with lots of Roger Miller's items. The museum is a great collection of Roger's massive career. The staff is very friendly and informative!!! The gift shop has some very nice Tshirts and collectibles. This is must see for any country music lover. Thank you Mrs. Miller for sharing these items with Roger's fans. And how cool is it that the museum in located on Route 66!!

Doing our Route 66 thing, we passed by this small town museum, but decided to backtrack for a stop as we were ready for a break, and have spent many hours singing "Trailer for Sale or Rent" in harmony! The small, homey museum was staffed by friendly ladies, full of stories about the entertainers, and of course memento's of his life and fame. Very interesting, fun stop and well worth the time taken for a memorable hour or so.

This museum in Erick contains many items of memorabilia from the Roger Miller estate. His widow has been very generous to the museum. Records, contracts, information, and displays feature the life of Roger Miller from boyhood throughout his career. A theater area shows a documentary of his life and performances from some of his television shows.
Although Erick is out of the way, it is actually not that far from the wonderful National Route 66 Museum complex in Elk City, and these make a wonderful combined mini vacation. We also combined a ride on some of the original still-existing Route 66 roads, which was a thrill.
The Roger Miller Museum is easy to find since there is not much left of Erick. It is at the intersection of the two main streets. Parking is front-door close, and we had the entire museum to ourselves when we arrived.
The receptionist is also the curator and commentator. She has an amazing knowledge of Miller's boyhood and career. She narrates but does not intrude.
This is a must see for anyone who loves classic country music and/or loves the classic Roger Miller variety television show. Even those who do not know Miller's work will become fans after visiting this museum.

This small museum would very interesting to anyone who remembers Roger Miller and his wonderful musical legacy. The displays were presented in a logical and interesting way. The video in the back room brought back many memories of this talented song writer and singer.
