My husband and I wanted a nice B and B close to OKC for an overnight getaway. I had never been to Guthrie and was curious to see the town. The innkeeper was very gracious and welcomed us with plenty of snacks in the room, including homemade cookies and cold beverages in the mini fridge. The house is decorated in a Victorian style, with plenty of antiques, lace curtains etc. There are a variety of DVD and VHS movies to choose from and a few games. She recommended a great restaurant named 12 Oaks which was about 15 min away where they have fabulous stuffed mushrooms. The filet was good but I've had better. The room at the inn was small and decorated in a country style but had a nice sized tub, was quiet and had a comfortable bed. Breakfast the next morning was 3 courses and delicious. We probably would have preferred more eggs and bacon type of food (more savory than sweet) but it was all homemade and tasted very good. Delicious chocolate banana muffins. The innkeeper told us the history of the house and more about landmarks in town which was interesting. We visited the Drug Store Museum which is free (they do have a box for monetary donations), which was fascinating to us and a quaint apothecary garden next to it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and do recommend this inn.
