This resort is amazing. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and a lake on the other. It has many hiking trails. The restaurant was fabulous and reasonably priced. It is a perfect spot. One way in and out. The only sound you ever hear is the wind. We picked an "off - week" just to get away from the city and life for a few days. The staff is wonderful. They have so much to offer for weddings, family reunions, and just a get away. We will be going back again for sure.

Room Tip: We chose a mountain view just so we could see the sun rising and setting over the mountains. A lake...

The location is awesome! The room was not clean and the shower has no water pressure. Restaurant was too expensive and service was slow. However, all the staff members were nice and friendly. We booked a lake side view but there was a building in front of us. Staff said lake side view is not same as lake view...a bit deceiving in my opinion. If the hotel clean the room better and food service improve, this would be an awesome hotel all around.

Beds are not the greatest and rooms are small. Drive into Blair or Altus for food. Food was cold in meeting rooms and on buffet, some ordered off the menu and it took forever. Could be a really nice place, needs help right now though. Overall we had a great retreat there and weather was better than normal. Lots of room to hike and explore and recover. Late night hot tub visits are always a highlight as well.

Nice facility overall, though the pool could use a cleaning. Recommend avoiding the lodge restaurant: poor service and mediocre food. Fun to hike trails and visit area small towns. Lake at only 11% capacity due to drought.

We were there for a conference, and had such a lovely meeting room and service. Our hotel room was gorgeous. View of the lake, wonderful art all around. Good food, good times! Can't wait to go back to hike and explore.

If you want to get out of town and be out of town, you should look into this one. The hotel is nice on the inside and has plenty of amenities. The outside looks great, too. The lake is down. According to some state reports, 29.5 ft. down. If you look at some of the hills around the lake, you'll see the water line. I believe it. I was afraid to say 20 ft. down because I was just guessing. Looks like I was off by 50%. Still, it makes for a pretty place. There was some ice on the lake and the river below the dam when we stayed there.

We went on a couple hikes around the area and saw lots of deer and birds. My daughter was a little upset we didn't see any snakes. The room was nice, and the bed was comfortable. We had the double because it was my wife and two kids. I wish they had adjoining rooms here. That way we could have had a "suite" with a King, maybe. Either way, it was nice. As for the updating, the main building doesn't seem like it needs it, but the rooms could use some. The bathrooms were the worst part of it. They need to tear out the tile and redo the showers.

The front desk was average. The service in the restaurant at dinner was poor. The food was fine, but the service was terrible. There weren't many people there, but it took our server 5 minutes to see us waiting to be seated, another 5 or so take our drink orders, and at least another 10 before she came back to see if we were ready to order. Not once were we greeted or made to feel welcome. At breakfast, totally different. Food was very good - service was just as good.

We may try to go back when the bald eagles are in their nests in a month or so.
