Small museum with a couple of neat Belle Starr artifacts and lots of train things. Many pictures of the Muskogee area over time and some art. Don't begrudge them the $3 per person because they are really trying.

My boyfriend and his daughter put in at the Muskogee dock. We traveled down the river to Ark. This river has some awesome scenery. We was gone for 6 days and lived on the boat at stop at the marinas for gas. You meet a lot of interesting people along the way.

I learned more about Muskogee by visiting the museum than I could have learned through any search engine. The photos are surreal. Buy the video from the museum called, "The spirits don't speak English"

We were really impressed with what the museum had to offer. The museum housed a broad eclectic range of artifacts which showcased the richness of the history of the area. Young or old, the museum had something to appeal to all ages. The lady overseeing everything at the museum while we were there was amazing. Not only was she a joy to talk to, but she was a wealth of information. We would like to go back again with our children.

Check out this museum. It give you insight into the local region's history. It's housed in the cool old train depot. And while you're there, pop into the OK Music Hall of Fame across the street. It features many plaques paying tribute to OK's musical heritage. OK is the home state of many musicians such as Charlie Christian, Barney Kessell, Garth Brooks, Wanda Jackson, Reba McIntire, Leon Russell, Roger Miller, Hoyt Axton, Mason Williams, Woody Guthrie, and so many others. There are some signed guitars and a few artifacts, in just two rooms--given OK's musical heritage, it could use some state funding and wider recognition. Right now, it's run by dedicated volunteers. If you're into music, whether it's blues, jazz, folk, country, or rock, you should check out this place to see OK's role in American music.
