You know, the steak house near the campus that has been there for ages.....that is Legends. I was pleasantly surprised however at the overall experience.
The outside looks a bit like a renovated Pizza Hut- same square building with the slanted mansard roof. Inside is a bit dated-has a 1992 feel to it. But it is clean and the staff was very attentive.
They have an extensive wine selection and a sufficient bar.
Bread offering was one small roll....that's it. Was flavorful but why only one?
I decided to stick with the old reliables- a lettuce wedge, then a NY Strip Steak with grilled asparagus. Lettuce wedge with bleu cheese was very good. Lettuce was fresh, dressing a strong bleu cheese and was accented with a grilled tomato slice- nice touch. The steak was reasonably priced at $28. No, its not prime but probably choice grade beef. It was cooked correctly but needed a bit of spice. Was a little bland. Table salt fixed that.
Would I go back? Probably. But this place is living a lot on the days of yesteryear and its location close to campus.
