“Every college town has one.....”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

You know, the steak house near the campus that has been there for ages.....that is Legends. I was pleasantly surprised however at the overall experience.

The outside looks a bit like a renovated Pizza Hut- same square building with the slanted mansard roof. Inside is a bit dated-has a 1992 feel to it. But it is clean and the staff was very attentive.

They have an extensive wine selection and a sufficient bar.

Bread offering was one small roll....that's it. Was flavorful but why only one?

I decided to stick with the old reliables- a lettuce wedge, then a NY Strip Steak with grilled asparagus. Lettuce wedge with bleu cheese was very good. Lettuce was fresh, dressing a strong bleu cheese and was accented with a grilled tomato slice- nice touch. The steak was reasonably priced at $28. No, its not prime but probably choice grade beef. It was cooked correctly but needed a bit of spice. Was a little bland. Table salt fixed that.

Would I go back? Probably. But this place is living a lot on the days of yesteryear and its location close to campus.

“A Favorite Norman Restaurant You Can Always Count On”
Reviewed 22 November 2013

We've been eating at Legends for many years and try to make it there for at least one meal during our visits to our daughter, a student at OU. We had dinner there again this past Saturday evening. We started with 2 appetizers, their famous Artichoke Dip ($7.95), which is sinfully delicious. I was not impressed with the Tonkatsu appetizer. I felt the panko-breaded pork was bland and unremarkable, although the sauce that came with it was delicious. Our Caesar salads were very tasty. As for our main course dishes, all were very tasty. Our daughter loved her Sundried Tomato Pasta with Chicken ($13.95). My husband enjoyed his fish entrée, although I don't recall which of them it was. I ordered the Medallions of Beef Tenderloin (an 8 oz portion of beef tenderloin on a pool of Worcestershire demi-glaze finished with blue cheese butter and the vegetable of the day for $29.95. It was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Our waiter that evening, Stuart, was great. He was helpful, attentive, pleasant and definitely reflected the quality that makes this restaurant a Legend there in Norman.

“Always can depend of Legends”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

Have eaten at this Norman Restaurant for years and I can always depend on excellent service and good food. Sunday brunch is especially nice. I had a bratwurst and gouda cheese omelet with a side of Caesar salad for brunch, which was excellent.

This unique restaurant has great food and great service. The salad bar is small, but VERY fresh and tasty! Homemade dressings are great! The desserts are 5 star! The Lemon Cream Cake is especially out of this world!!!
