Description: Enjoy tastes from an extensive menu of Chinese cuisine in warm and quietly elegant surroundings. Conveniently located in the heart of Oklahoma City, Grand House Asian Bistro offers lunch and dinner selections and a full bar, including an extensive Martini list. Grand House is also the only restaurant in Oklahoma City to offer traditional dim sum on weekends. Dim Sum is a family-style meal where the diner selects several small plates to sample until they have created a meal. At Grand House, food choices are brought on trays to the various tables, including pot stickers, dumplings, roast duck and much more. Grand House also now offers sushi. The restaurant has a large sushi list including many traditional favorites and new specialties.

This is one of the best Dimsum restaurant in Oklahoma. We drive almost 2 hours and come here at least once a month. The food is great, and have a lot of varieties to choose from. Sunday is the best time to go, although it's always busy. If you like cooking Asian/oriental food, there's a big Oriental grocery, just across the street from it.

The Grand House is a spacious restaurant that caters to a strictly mid-western American palate. All the dishes I have sampled there are rather bland, even if labeled "spicy". The dishes contain more meat than vegetables, and the pieces are larger than they should be for chopstick eating. Additionally, sauces like hoisin are diluted rather than served full strength, probably a cost cutting measure. Saying all this, the Bejing Duck is fairly good, although prepared in the kitchen. Additionally, on Saturday and Sunday Dim Sum Tea Lunch is served, which attracts a large Asian crowd. On a scale of one to ten, the dim sum is about 7.
I write this review with many years authority. My father was the general manager of the best Chinese restaurant in San Diego for over 20 years. We ate there regularly with the other employees, as well as separately. They bar none had the best Dim Sum I have ever eaten.
If you are in Oklahoma City, and are "hankerin" Asian cuisine, the Grand House is OK, but not equivalent to restaurants in which I have eaten in Chicago, San Diego, NYC, and San Francisco.

Seven of us ate here on a Sunday nite in July. The good dishes included the Moo Sho Pork, Tofu, and Pad Thai.
The rest of the experience was awful. Heavy mystery brown sauce on the egg foo young. Had to reject the
shrimp with walnuts - the chef burned the walnuts, then turned them over so we wouldn't notice. The shrimp were
old and inedible. The waitress was the worst of all. Every time she poured water, got more on us and the floor than
in the glasses. She placed a very hot dish in front of a 2 year old. She made a mess of the whole meal.
Finally, the mens room was absolutely vile - cannot use words to describe it that would be acceptable to tripadvisor.
Have never had such a lousy Chinese restaurant experience anywhere in the world. Eat somewhere else.

There aren't many options for Dim Sum in Oklahoma City, but if you have just one possibility, Grand House is not a bad one. I like that Seafood is the basis for most of the offerings, but wish that fewer were fried and more were steamed or sauteed, but hey, this OKC and the fried stuff has more takers. Go before noon for the best food selection and to guarantee yourself a seat - it can get busy as the noon hour approaches.

Food is always good, service is good too. I wish they would eliminate their live music because it adds nothing to the environment.
