“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2012

We love Shad's and eat there on a regular basis. Very easy atmosphere. Food is always good whether you are a catfish eater or a want a good steak. More than enough to eat, always fresh. Service is always great. Food served hot.

“Dog gone good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 January 2012

Been to Shad's quite a few times over the years, and always go back a couple times a year. It's in a really out of the way location way out in the Oklahoma country side. Looks like you're pulling up to a big old farm building when you get there. It's a casual place with rural rustic decor. The owners and staff are as friendly as you will ever find because they're our sons and daughters, mothers and fathers. The food is deeeelicious country-style good. After a friendly greeting and seating, they'll bring you the serving of beans, slaw and hush puppies. Don't forget to dive in to the green tomato relish; it's is simply fantastic. If you haven't filled up on the intro, then you can feast on fried catfish. I've never asked, but I assume it's fresh-caught from Kerr lake/Arkansas river. I hope so, anyway. Try the frog legs. They are outstanding. Take the whole family and enjoy the feast, and you'll still have a lot of change left in your pockets. For a few dollars more, you can get all you can eat. Don't expect black tie waiters, wandering minstrels, or a maitre'd. This is just plain old Oklahoma at it's best.

“Great food, always leave there full.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2011

This is a great place to go if you're hungry. The all you can eat catfish tastes great, along with the tomato relish. While waiting, they set you up with all you can eat pinto beans, hush puppies, and coleslaw. The beans are really good, but the hush puppies are AWESOME! You'll be full before you get your food. You won't be disappointed.

“wonderful food, great value, but cash only”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2011

Located about 7 miles south of town, very interesting rustic decor. All you can eat catfish is a really great value. The sides were also very good. Only negative is that they do not take credit cards and I could see no notice to that effect. We were fortunate enough to scrape up the required amount of cash, but did not have enough left for an adequate tip. We rarely carry cash, and this is only the second restaurant I've ever eaten in that did not accept any credit cards.
