We love River of Love Cabins! This was our first stay with Kelly and family but it will not be our last. I was so thrilled when we saw our secluded little cabin for the first time. Then as we walked around and explored our surroundings we simply blown away by the beauty that would be "ours" for the next couple of days! A simple one room cabin that was homey and inviting with every detail attended to. A serene atmosphere where the only "noise" was the raucous call of Blue Jays playing in the trees. The cabin has a friendly cat that will welcome you and will expect a pat on the head and a handful of food. The fact that Kelly has a food dispenser on the back porch for the cat and other critters is one of my FAVORITE features! Way to go animal lover!
We will be telling our friends and family about River of Love. Just a 2 hour drive from us here in Erath County, TX. I highly encourage you to check them out!

We are just back from 3 nights at the Red Bud Cabin. We loved the quiet. It rained for part of the time we were there, but we just sat out on the back porch or in the hot tub and enjoyed the sounds. The cabin is secluded, but well maintained. We only saw other people one time in the three days we were there and that was while we were out walking. The owners made an extra trip to make sure we had enough linens and towels. We will definitely visit again.

We just returned from our second stay in the Love Caboose. This 64- year old Missouri Pacific caboose has been beautifully restored and outfitted, while still maintaining many of its original fixtures inside and out. It's a charming and unique getaway spot, and is on our list of favorites!

Everything and I mean everything was thought of that we could possibly need in the Love Train. We had a wonderful time and we are already talking about the next time we get to go back. We don't recommend the Catfish Restaurant down the road it wasn't worth the money. The next night we drove over to the Homeland Grocery store and bought steaks and grilled out.
There was also a very friendly and very smart Cat at the Caboose we named him Scout and we really had to fight the urge not to bring him home with us and I am sure if we wouldn't have been on a motorcycle we probably would have. I swear he understood everything we said to him.
Maybe next time we will have to plan for a massage.

We try to stay here at least one weekend a year. The Red Bud Cabin is our favorite. Perfect for spending quality time with my wife without the outside world getting in the way. The only bad thing about our cabin weekends is that they all come to an end way to quickly.

The caboose was quaint and cozy, yet every amenity neatly planned. We loved the woodsy ambience, the birds. Turner Falls state park is nearby for short hikes. We can't recommend the "Front Porch" restaurant in town, but we went prepared to grill and cook for ourselves anyway so it was not a big problem. Just experiencing rural Oklahoma was a treat!

Room Tip: Be sure to read the hot-tub manual, and set the heat/AC on auto.

We stayed the weekend of April 5th to celebrate a birthday. What an amazing and relaxing getaway. The effort put in to the accommodations really shows. The Love Train Caboose was fantastic. What a neat concept. The cake and champagne and balloons were truly special along with a nice card. Kelly really took the time to make this a great weekend. We will be back and we will be sure to let people know that a little over an hour from McKinney TX is a great getaway.
