Philbrook is the mansion of Tulsa oilman Waite Phillips. It has his collection of artwork, plus much more that's been added through the years, and they have many special exhibits

This is a world class museum. We live in Tulsa, but have travelled all over the world and visited many famous museums. This rates right up there and is worth a special trip. If you come in spring or summer, the gardens are beautiful as well with multiple fountains like you would see in Europe. The house itself is architecturally wonderful as well.

An outstanding art museum featuring classic and contemporary collections, housed in a beautiful Italianate villa that was once home to members of the Phillips family (Phillips Petroleum) and is now a public treasure containing priceless art. The grounds are equally outstanding - expansive classic formal gardens and marvelous landscape make this a must-do stop in a lovely city!

The Philbrook Museum is both an historical home and a first rate museum. It is small enough to enjoy in an afternoon. It houses a range of types of paintings and has a growing interesting contemporary collection. The Italianate gardens are lovely. There are special programs for children. I think the 1st Saturday of the month is free admission with special activiites for kids. The museum also offers a range of art classes for both adults and children.

From it's history to it's art, this museum is worth a walk through. And with the Tulsa Garden Center adjoining it, one can explore the rose bushes and landscaped grounds as well. The restaurant has a very nice Sunday brunch overlooking the gardens.
