Tulsa has preserved much of the Arkansas River course through the city as forested parkland, well designed for walking, biking, and other activities. It is a fantastic amenity right in the middle of the city. If you are visiting the city, take a break and enjoy this lovely "linear park."

River parks us fun if you like being outdoors. The area is always expanding too. There is another park in the works near by it that will be fabulous when it's completed. That will make the River Park area even better! Right on the river, long trails for biking, walking. Plenty of places to sit and hang out. Restaurants on it too but the best ones by far are in the south end of River Parks. ( 95th or so and Riverside Dr.) too bad there's not always water flowing in the river on the south end. Plans in the works to change that.

The parks trails continue to improve. If you are passing through and need to stretch, pull up to a parking place and take a walk along the paved trails. Very relaxing.

We live within walking distance of Riverparks - use it almost daily. Really enjoy the improvements - I feel the separated lanes for walking, jogging, bike-riding are much safer. Always enjoyed the 31st Street Bridge; we love to see the birds and occasional mammals along the way. One afeternoon, we were riding our bikes and came across a small group of people sitting and watching an eagle in a tree. We thought this was fabulous - I'm fairly certain that the eagle was bored.

This system of paved trails is extensive. Over 75 miles of trails cover much of Tulsa. The primary system runs along the Arkansas River. In addition, the system includes an urban wilderness area called Turkey Mountain. Amazing area. Further, Tulsa is investing another $300 million to upgrade this park system for the future.
