“Very Cool Spot”

Center of the Universe
Reviewed 17 August 2014

This was a very cool little spot. We stopped by here while in Tulsa. It was really cool to hear the echo's of every thing we did. It's worth a quick stop.

this was not worth the time to even walk up the street to. I would not recommend it at all. What is the big deal? a little circle of bricks in the middle of a wide brick sidewalk. your voice vibrates a little (I mean little) bit when you talk. so? disappointing

The #COUFest was a fun experience for a long weekend with my teenagers. Ticket prices for the weekend were very good, but everyone wants to see the main stage acts, so that area was very crowded and even when in a good spot the shortest of us couldn't see through people who decided to climb on things so they could see better. It was around 100 degrees and there was a splash park & a fire hydrant open. There was an abundance of food trucks and options of watching acts on other stages, especially on Guthrie Green where there was shade.
As for the actual landmark of the Center of the Universe, it was cool. You stand on one spot and you can hear your own voice echo. It works better if you talk louder. I tried to record it, but the recording didn't pick it up. It's free and people seemed to be pretty good at taking turns even on this busy festival weekend. Definitely stop & check it out if you are in Tulsa.

Went there during center of universe festival with my Dog. He and I both loved it. He could hear the echo and I made him bark..It was supernatural.

On a pedestrian bridge in Tulsa, sits the center of the universe...who knew.

The acoustic anomaly while standing in the middle of the circle is quite fun, actually. The effect of which will take your normal voice and amplify it as if you were holding a microphone. The catch is anyone outside of the circle will hear your voice in its normal volume. People have said it amplified whispers as well, but I had no luck with that when I visited.

Its nothing you have to go out of your way to see, but if you are in the area give it a try, its a fun little free thing to do in Tulsa.
