The Ambassador Hotel in downtown Tulsa is one-of-a-kind. It is a boutique hotel, with a car and driver that will deliver you up to 5 miles away, which was perfect for our evening watching a bike rally downtown. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room, they have great views.

This was my third stay at this hotel and when in downtown Tulsa will stay here again. It's a boutique hotel with large rooms and nice furnishings. It's pet friendly. The Chalkboard Restaurant downstairs is quaint and has good food. They also offer complementary limo style shuttle service to the airport and the downtown area.

You know how you only really get to test customer service when something goes awry? Well the Ambassador staff got to show their true stripes with our stay this weekend. My husband was running in a 50 mile overnight race on July 4th so we needed a convenient hotel that accepted dogs and was located near the fireworks. Check all on those requirements - it was only a few blocks from FreedomFest, 5 miles from the race location and took dogs. It's a very nice boutique hotel, which nice fittings. Where this hotel stood out was in the service. While my 9 yo daughter and I were at the park waiting for fireworks, she cut her foot badly on some broken glass. We called the hotel to have the shuttle pick us up and even though they had other rides scheduled they rearranged to come right away. The shuttle driver Stephen was FANTASTIC. First he took us to the hotel because he thought they had some first aid supplies on hand. However, they didn't. My kid was screaming in pain when I moved her so I asked if she could sit in the lobby while Stephen shuttled me to a nearby QuickTrip for bandages. Michelle on the front desk was great - she watched over her while I was out on what was to become a bit of an expedition. Keep in mind it was 9pm on 4th of July, so most things were closed. QuickTrip didn't have even bandages, so Stephen took me well outside the 5 mile radius to a Walgreens that was still open where I grabbed what i needed. Arrived back probably 40 minutes later to find kid happily drinking water and coloring under Michelle's watchful eye. (She drew a picture saying "Ambassador Rocks"). As kid stood up and started to whimper again Stephen produced a Freeze Pop that distracted her again. Later that evening hubby took dog out for a walk and Michelle greeted them with a Milkbone and the offer of a dog bed, food bowls, etc. I have stayed in plenty of 4 & 5 star hotels that didn't the Ambassador for service and friendliness. The property was very pretty, extremely clean and I will definitely return if crazy hubby runs the same race next year. Thank you Ambassador for being so nice in the face of panicked mom and screaming kid.

Dear Mickey M,

I cannot thank you enough for sharing this great story about our staff. They are truly the greatest asset we have and I am honored that they took such great care of you and your family. While I realize that it wasn't under the best circumstances, the level of customer service you received is our goal for all of our guests and it seems we certainly achieved that goal with your family.

We hope that your daughter is doing well and if your travels bring you back to the Tulsa area, we will have the opportunity to serve you again. However, let's hope for a little less "excitement" next time!

The Ambassador certainly isn't a luxury hotel but the service is excellent. My wife and I stayed with Ambassador on our wedding night before leaving Tulsa the following day. We had an evening wedding and showed up at the hotel around 10:00 p.m. The gentleman working the front desk was polite and extremely helpful as we unloaded the car and took our luggage to our room. Since we were wearing our wedding clothes he refused to let us help and he took care of all our luggage himself. We were very thankful that he had gone out of his way to find another staff member to manage the front desk while he helped us.

The next morning as we were packing, I dropped one of the complimentary glass flutes we had been given the night before. When I brought the pieces to the front desk, the staff members were quick to replace it and even offered to find me directions to the nearest bank we were looking for. Going above and beyond what was required seemed to come naturally.

Like I said before, it wasn't very luxurious but it was comfortable and the service was great. I will not hesitate to return to Ambassador next time I need a hotel in Tulsa.

Based on a friend's recommendation, we booked this hotel to be near the Utica Square area. We could not have been happier with the hotel, staff and location. We were provided with free transportation to the Tulsa PAC to see Wicked and were offered the same service to the Utica Square area as well. The Ambassador is located near the Philbrook Museum and Woodward Park and gardens. The room with two guest beds was essentially a suite with lots of amenities for the price. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Room 602 was quite. No elevator or hallway noise.

This is a great boutique hotel located in the downtown area of Tulsa. They have recently updated their lobby and are in the process of renovating the guest rooms. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with luxury bedding and robes, making it very comfortable to stay there. Great large flat-screen TV's and a nice desk area too. The hotel has no amenities such as a hotel gift shop, coffee shop, etc. They do have a basic fitness room but that is about it. So if you want a nice luxury room with good working space, it is a great choice.

Room Tip: The rooms at the end of the halls are large and spacious. Also because it is city, the higher the f...

Dear Christine S,

I sincerely appreciate your review of our hotel. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed yourself while staying with us. I completely agree with you in the fact that our hotel has luxury rooms with good working space, something that our business clientele really value. While it is true that we do not have a gift shop on site, our luxury transportation service can certainly take you to any number of places that can fulfill that need.

We truly hope to serve you again, and show you our renovated rooms, if your travels bring you back to the Tulsa area.

Priced a little high. Service is friendly. A complaint is the air conditioning in our room. After more than an hour waiting for it to cool our room, we called the front desk. Staff came to the room promptly, tested the air conditioning's temp at 70 when it was set for 65, and offered to upgrade us. We declined the upgrade but appreciated the offer. Eventually, the room cooled but it took several hours. This is not what you expect for >$180 a night. Staff and accommodations are nice, though perhaps not what you pay for. It's at the edge of downtown but there's attempt to compensate with a chauffeured Cadillac Escalade. If it's available when you want it, it could be nice. To be fair, this problem with the air conditioning could have been a one off. This is an above average hotel. The property seemed well maintained. The ac was definitely an oversight considering what The Ambassador charged. On balance, I concur with the high reviews and recommend it.

Room Tip: Make sure the air conditioning works

Dear jk10019,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Please let me apologize for the trouble with the AC unit in your room. We have shared these comments with our maintenance team to ensure that this issue does not happen again. Our goal is to make sure that each and every one of our guests is comfortable while staying with us and we are constantly working to ensure issues like these do no occur.

As you mentioned, our location is on the edge of downtown which allows for a more private and quiet guest experience. This also allows us the opportunity to offer complimentary parking, an amenity that is not easily found at downtown hotels.

I do appreciate your recommendation of our hotel and if your travels ever bring you back to the Tulsa area, we hope to have the opportunity to serve you again.
