A nice surprise. Older but clean and in good repair motel. Very good breakfast. A casserole potato, egg, sausage. Choice of fruit and home made coffee cake. Room was small. Bed was medium comfort. Not a La Quinta. 4 rooms per hallway so it can get a little noisy. $5 charge for dog. Have a dog run. Also can walk the trail along the river. Not next to the motel but across the road. Close to town enough to walk the town and find a restaurant. Small bath and no counters. Just like the 50's! Good shower. Dinky flat screen TV OK cuz nothing on in August anyway. Nicer Jack Reacher motel (author Lee Child)

Room Tip: Back rooms quieter.

First time in Baker city, stayed here after reading reviews on trip advisor. HOWEVER, feel the reviews are way over rated!! The ROOMS and every thing in them ARE VERY WORN. Not dirty but Surface clean only! Very very limited breakfast, but great coffee! Would not stay here again. Lots of long term contractors, staying here.

Room Tip: Keep driving!

Very basic room. Only spent 1 night, didn't try the TV so I don't know about the quality. No hair dryer or coffee in room. Walls are pretty thin i.e. could hear TV in other rooms. It's within walking distance of an average coffee shop for breakfast.

We checked into the old style motel for one night on our way to Washington. We obviously were in the old part of Baker city so everything was dated. We looked around and more or less chose one that had more vehicles and crossed our fingers. The desk clerk was nice and friendly. While standing in the lobby we noticed old pictures from Paint Your Wagon and found out that Baker City is where it was filmed. This happens to be the husbands favorite musical. Our room was dated but adequate. The bathroom looked like an attempt had been made at updating. It was alright for our needs. We did receive one nasty shock. After checking in we were handed two bottles of water and were told to use them to brush our teeth or drink. The city's water supply was contaminated and was making people sick!!!! Had we known that we wouldn't have stayed, we would have headed on to the next town.

It was ok for a night but we wouldn't stay again.

This was a fine place to stay for a night. The owner offered fresh cake when we checked in. She was very friendly. Room was small but clean and had a comfortable bed. Negative: the hallway was super narrow and you could hear some noise. Like someone was knocking on a door, continually, quite early in the morning. Good thing we weren't trying to sleep in. Breakfast in the office was just fine.
