Great fish and chips, friendly service, and convenient location. I like how they package everything up like a box lunch; it must be very convenient for fishermen!

Having been a huge fan of excellent fish and chips for 40 years, this place served up one of the 5 best, all-time, no doubt about it, fish and chip meals.

Bandon Fish Market is located next to the boat harbor. A smallish blue building, the primary white lettering overhead might lead you to believe that the name of the place is "Fish and Chips, Chowder House." Look closely for the smaller sign that bears the restaurant name.

The "Fish and Chips" has 8 different choices for the particular fish that you might prefer.
The place seemed busy, but the wait was reasonable. And worth it. Both the local Lingue Cod and accompanying fries were perfectly crisp, delicate, and done to the moment of perfection. (They use a quality oil to fry with, although, we didn't agree which exact one it might be.) Excellent cole slaw as a side.
My wife had the salmon sourdough bowl-- rich, buttery, and fresh. Bravo again.
No wonder they are quite busy!

I got the Pacific cod and my husband, the rock fish and snapper fish and chips. Great quantity and interesting presentation. Our meal came in a to go container.
The coleslaw was yummy, with cranberries. The batter was tasty. The only downside was the tangy tarter sauce, it was okay.

This is a terrific place for fish and chips. You can get halibut or cod. We had cod. Breading is not too heavy or oily. Fish is delicious and you get a healthy portion. My wife got the" Mattey" which had a smaller portion of fish, but included chowder. LOVED the fish---NIX the chowder. Busy place, little inside seating, but it was a sunny day in Bandon, so we sat outside.

We had lunch at the Chowder House yesterday. The place isn't fancy and some of the outdoor seating is right along the sidewalk/road. But, it's near the marina/waterfront so feel you're eating fish & chips in the right spot. You walk up to the counter to order and when done the food is brought to you in to-go style cartons. It was all very good. We had a bit of everything. I had the cod & chips. It had several pieces fish, really tasty seasoned fries and coleslaw. Someone had their taco Tuesday fish taco. Again, very good. Our non seafood eater had the chicken & chips with garlic toast. Again, quite good. Sodas are bottomless and they serve bottled beer too (both micro & generic). Prices are reasonable ($12 for fish/chips - $8 for chicken/chips) and being taco Tuesday the fish tacos were the real deal at $3 each. All and all its a nice place for lunch.
