“A great place to stay in Bandon”

This hotel looks old from the outside but the rooms themselves are very welcoming, updated, the beds are very comfortable, the towels and blankets are soft and the room is big and well maintained. we traveled with 3 little children and needed laundry and although there is no laundry services in the motel, The lady manager was so nice and did our laundry anyway and didn't ask for any charge!! you cant find a lot of managers like her!! the view from the room is terrific and there is an access from the hotel to the beach. I would definitely return there!!

Room Tip: Rooms 105 and 106 are the best! with great view of the beach and a private access from your porch to...

The views are spectacular! The room and the motel itself are fine. Good sized room, tiny porch (paying an extra $25 for the porch probably wasn't worth it) lots of updating needed but the room was clean and comfortable. Old town is a 1 mile walk which we enjoyed.

I'm going to open by saying this small building is old, but reasonably maintained. The only real amenities are a soda and an ice machine. Now you're noticing the 5 star rating and wondering, how is this possible? It's because this hotel has very reasonable rates and sits atop a cliff with one of the more spectacular Oregon Coast views I've seen. If you're a bird lover, the beautiful rock isles in front of the hotel are home to hundreds of sea birds. I should also mention that if you like to sleep with the windows open, the rock isles are home to hundreds of sea birds. Honestly, the noise didn't really bother me as it seemed to blend in with the crashing surf, but there you go. The property's next to great paved walking trails along the cliff, and also has a convenient staircase if you prefer to head down to the beach. One thing that was sad was apparently beach fires are not allowed. However I did notice one waaaay down the beach but decided not to tempt fate. Anyway, if you find yourself in Bandon, even for a night, book this one with no hesitation.

Room Tip: I believe that all the rooms have views, so I suppose the only upgrade would be an upper level room...

We don't often stay in motels anymore, so the lesser review should reflect that fact. But we are travelling in August, so the choices are limited. When I am travelling down the coast, I want beachfront accommodations, and in this aspect the place delivers. It borders a wildlife preserve and park with trails that meander along the cliffs of a coastline that has spectacular views. The rooms on the first floor dont have the best views. There is a public parking lot for the park, and the patios are shared, and we had people walking right by our window to get to the walking trails. The staircase down to the beach is a ton of stairs, so be prepared. The rooms are basic, and very warm, because no a/c. They provided us a fan to use, and we had to open windows and keep the door to our room open to get air flow. The beds are hard and springy. The towels though are soft. :-).

...this place was everything we could have asked for. The room was adequate and the views and the proximity to the beach in my opinion could not be beat, especially for the value. To me it seemed like we were in another world. Spectacular views, sea lions, birds...

The views from The Bandon Beach Motel are simply spectacular! Many of the rooms are facing directly out to the beach. It is only two stories and no elevator so take that into consideration when you are booking your reservation. Jeannie, the proprietor, will book you into a specific room when you make a reservation.

Our husbands planned to play golf at Bandon Dunes but with due respect to that resort, the accommodations are way to expensive!! In contrast we paid a very reasonable price to stay in the beach!

The "Bandon Rocks" are out back and when all the conditions are aligned, you will be treated to a gorgeous sunset!!

The best room is 206 with a panoramic view! Understandably it is more expensive. We didn't stay in it but we got to peek into it after the guests occupying it left.

Bandon Beach Motel is clean, very adequate and a comfortable place to stay.

If ever we return to Bandon, we would definitely choose to stay at Bandon Beach Motel!

If you're looking for location, this place is a 5. If you're looking at the hotel itself, it's a 2. It was just old and not kept up. This is the kind of place that has a fly swatter on the windowsill. I wondered how clean the bedspread was. I took a bath and there was mold on the bottom of the faucet, ug, I saw it only when I was already in the tub. As far as safety, they use a key rather then a card, and both the doorknob lock and the deadbolt lock could use the key from the outside - there was no way to lock from the inside where someone with a copy of the key couldn't get in.
But if that's not an issue, you'll love it for the location - at the top of a promontory, which is a city park, with trails and a great stairway to the beach. In fact, you can do a wide loop, going along the top of the bluff, down a stairway at the end of the trail, along the beach and back up the stairway at the hotel. And the beaches below are awesome. But you can access them from competitors.
At some point, even the location won't offset the lack of maintenance and updates. Because of that, I thought it was overpriced since I could have gotten a much better price on Expedia from a competitor down the street.
