Stayed three nights, would come again. Yes it is a bit dated but that is part of the charm. Clean and well kept. Everyone there greeted us with a smile and a hello. We were initially in a back room up a flight of stairs. The front desk was very accommodating, when we asked for a street level room for easy access. We ended up with a charming room with private porch looking over a center garden, and pond.
Dining room is full of dark woods, brass and Sinatra style music and smiling waitstaff. Breakfast is a hearty buffet.
Rooms are standard size, basic and clean. Bring your own pillow unless you like thick biscuit shaped lumpy ones;).
If quirky, quiet with amazing landscaping is attractive for you, this is the place.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pond. Because of the terraine, there is actually easy access to the second...

After reading the reviews, I was a little reserved about staying here but we stayed anyways. It turned out really well. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The stay was friendly when we checked in and checked out. Best of all, we were really close to downtown Portland and the nearby attractions like the Zoo, Forest Park and Japanese Garden. It was also convenient to Beaverton where we did some grocery shopping.

Yes the hotel decoration and the room was a little "dated" but we didn't mind. The main thing was that it was clean, nearby to Portland and affordable. We figured the owner was going for that country lodge look with the dark paneling.

Room Tip: We had an end room and it worked out well. We were close to the parking lot and had a nice view of...

I purchased for my daughter, so she could take a early morning test in Beaverton. This place needs to be updated! They still have a metal room key. I like "old school" stuff in my life, but this is more of a security issue today. It was convenient to where she was going. That was the only good thing about the place.

Stayed for one night as a stop on the way to the coast. Served its purpose but would have been disappointed if we were staying longer. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable but definitely old. Front desk clerk sent us to the wrong door to get to our room so we wandered around looking for our room. In our room the sink in the bathroom had the hot/cold backwards. Breakfast was very good just not much selection. Again, no major problems but glad we had only stayed for one night.

Picked this hotel for 1 night as my husband having surgery locally early following morning. From the outside the buildings are in need of some TLC. The receptionist was very slow and I'd previously paid but still need to take credit card details for any incidentals. I gave her my card and I assumed she'd entered all the necessary details but at 8.45 p.m. she phoned our room to ask for the number as she had swiped the card but not entered details in her computer. Not amused as we were about to turn off the lights and go to sleep.
The room obviously has been updated but the bed was a hard as a rock. Sheets of good quality but the pillows were tiny for a King bed. Bathroom very clean but lacking in hand lotion and conditioner which most hotels provide. Also no notepad or pen by the phone.
We had asked for a quiet room and this was good at the back of the property.
Breakfast is not a buffet as advertised but a choice of three things and if you want from the larger menu the voucher you are given is worth $3-00. I opted for the biscuits and gravy and fresh fruit. Biscuits good but served with a tasteless white sauce and fruit which was melon was unripe.
My husband used the telephone "wake-up" system but this did not work and when I mentioned it to the gentleman on reception he said "Oh! That doesn't work - you should have called reception to request a wake-up call. I asked why weren't we informed of this or a notice put by the telephone and he just shrugged!

Went there for 3 days, the room was comfortable but oldish looking. According to the pictures it lookes very luxurious and i have to say, the chandelier in the lobby was as nice as the pictures. Unfortunately the weather was bad so, no chances to chill outside or see much of the pool or garden.
The bad note is the prices at the restaurant. We ended up having a 16$ breakfast for 2 evn with the vouchers the hotel provide you. The list of food to pick wasnt long enough for our taste but 16$ for pancakes and scrumbled eggs seems a bit too much. And this was with a 6$ discount!
We wanted to try a dinner there, supposed to be a 4 stars restaurant so, but after breakfast we just forgot the idea.
Other thing that made us pretty mad was the wifi. We picked this hotel because it says free wifi, but of course it didnt work in our room. The front desk persone asured us they were fixing it the first evening we were there but three nights lader, we still had to go up to the lobby on the other side of the property, to get wifi. We felt like they lied to us the whole time saying it's supposed to work, so it just tainted our stay
