“A lot of flavor, but...”

A nice space with friendly waiters, Mingo in Beaverton left me a bit disappointed. The bus boys are a bit rough, detracting from the service if you are expecting date level service. The salads are superb, but the wine pours are stingy by about 25% compared with other like rated restaurants in the Portland area. The penne pasta with ragu was very dry compared with Tabla. The lasagna bolognaise had a lot of eggplant for the recipe. The waiters were really attentive. They tend to cluster seating together in one part of the restaurant, removing an element of privacy.

“Spring Delight”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014 via mobile

Took Jennifer out for her birthday. Chose Mingo for the food and ambiance. We each ordered a salad. I had the tri colore, arugula, prosciutto, and mozerella. She had the Cesar with whole stalks of romaine. We shared some of our salads with each other, and the combination was better than the originals. Food was good but the off menu salads were magical.

“Very Good Choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

As most know, Portland gets nearly all the kudos as a great foodie city. Sometimes, deserving restaurants out in the suburbs don't get the same treatment or are overlooked. Mingo's is a real treat, with great menu with an equally impressive wine list. The waiter was knowledgeable, friendly & efficient. The courses we ordered, the grilled halibut, pizza and shrimp were all prepared well, satisfying and representative of this restaurants ability to challenge the more well-known spots in Portland.

“A little slice of urban In the suburbs”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2014 via mobile

Been enjoying this local spot for years... Incredibly friendly and efficient wait staff, menu and bar items consistently top notch and their special wine diners (reservation req'd) are so fun! They bring Italian wine producers and/or brokers in to discuss each wine as it's paired with each course of the dinner. You always meet new people who want to enjoy new wines and well-prepared food. You must come on a warm summer evening when they roll up the glass garage-style doors so you can enjoy the small Beaverton Round park and outdoor dining. Favorite menu item: whatever the risotto special is. Favorite starter: the Mingo salad. Favorite drink: Italian Sidecar. Yumm!

“Food is fine, service is a bit snubbish”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2014

I remember they used to be a very friendly place with good food. Well, my husband and I went there for dinner and we both think the service is a bit on the snubbish side. We sit at the bar area,
